I don't have all of these still, but half the fun is letting some go and making way for new ones.

I’m good. I’ve been spared from layoffs so far. Just started working outside in a ditch though. Pretty crazy that I’ve been on less jobsites than some people in my class have been with contractors.

I drove by your place for the first time in months, finally coming out of the ground!

Trust me we're way too late in the game to be talking first mods.

Good morning. We got some snow here. Some side roads were a little icy on the way in today. Headed up to Warren PA for the day hopefully everything is clear up there by the time I get there.

Just barely got fuel delivered before the cold hit, we were just about bone dry and I was worried I'd have to go buy a few cans of diesel to tide me over.
    Stay warm out there!

I hear you! Had to run my tank to nearly dry so I could replace the legs that had rotted out. Scary how bad they were! But then I needed to get a delivery asap before the cold hit. I ended up putting 10 gallons of diesel just to be safe

Did you weld new legs on? how exactly did you do that?
We moved my tank and bent the legs but they were able to be straightened out... but the fact I could bend the main joint with my one hand made me extremely nervous so we propped up the center with a big jack-screw so now the weight is supported on 5 points instead of 4... seems to be working.

The legs on a standard 275 gallon oil tank are threaded 1-1/4 pipe 12" long maximum. They are easy to change, just jack up the side of the tank (preferably not full) and unscrew with a pipe wrench.

If you buy actual "oil tank legs" they are only threaded on one end (the tank end) if you buy standard pipe nipples they will be threaded on both ends and you can screw a floor flange on for a nicer look and spread the weight a bit more. The flanges also do less damage to concrete when you move the tank.
    Floor flange:

It sounds like you bent the actual leg mount on the tank. I would be nervous too. Oil tanks rust from the inside out, they can look fine but be very weak and thin.

A leaking heating oil tank is the homeowner equivalent to Chernobyl. You need to check that tank out thoroughly and if you have any doubts replace it. Good take outs are usually easily available when people convert to gas. Good luck and report back.
Welcome to the PA thread :hattip:too!
