Seems like the general consensus is to get a KDmax tune, but what other options are there if I am going to keep the stock tire size (265/70r16) and not lift? I’ll be getting a 2022 trd off road DCSB soon and I’m trying to get ahead with research before I get the truck. I live at 8000ft elevation and regularly drive anywhere between 8000-11000ft. I visit family down near sea level but 90% of my time is spent at high elevation

I am going to just run everything stock at first to get a gauge on how the truck is going to feel, but am wondering if anyone else has done the same before and after.

    thanks in advance

I run mine stock and like it just fine. I have maybe a 1.25” lift and bumped up one tire size over stock. No issues, runs well.

Thanks for the input, as you were responding I was updating my post (added in the elevation I drive at).

New and upcoming M+W Nexus tune works great for my stock tires and gears setup!

get the Nexus tune by @Mooseditty17.
It’s much more refined and makes the truck drive so damn well

you will be surprised by the difference on a stock rig

Can you specify more about the difference between the nexus tune vs kdmax tune? Do they specialize for different uses?

the KDMAX tune is a fantastic tune with some adjustments in refinement (made by Paparee) whereas the Nexus seems more fully refined with adjustments per gear for TC lock, half-lock and no lock. Better ignition, power, linear throttle behavior, mpgs and much more. The KDMAX is a good tune, but I personally like the Nexus tune island it feels noticeably better. I have been tuning since 2017 (30+ tunes ran in my truck since then). I can tell a difference

I will be driving everything stock just to break it in and feel it out myself for the first several thousand miles (at least a year or so), but if/when I decide to get a tune I will keep this thread in mind. Thanks

sure thing. Just FYI, I would have sold my truck had it not been for the tune. Now it’s a blast with more power and mpgs
