Hey- what’s your setup at the time of this pic? I have the same SR5 and looking to upgrade. Any lift/level here? Thanks!

Holy throw back. At that time the suspension was 100% stock and I had 265/75/16 tires on 16x8 +0 wheels.

I have changed setups since then and have around a 2 inch suspension lift with 285/70/17s.

Haha thanks man! I’m new to TW so I’ve been just scrolling through these forums. Yours really stuck out to me and I honestly want mine to look quite the same!

Hope you don’t mind but can you give me a breakdown of everything you’ve done (exact wheel+ tire with brands) as well as what you’re running for the lift kit now?

I’m honestly scared to pull the trigger on anything right now on stock suspension because I don’t want it to rub… plan on doing almost the same thing you did though with bigger tires/wheels now and a lift down the road potentially. I just hate the stock silver SR5 wheels I have on now and need them gone lol. Might as well do new wheels with 265/75/16. Any rubbing at the time when you had 100% stock suspension?

sorry for the million questions, I just don’t want to be that guy who puts on the wrong setup if you know what I mean. Thanks!

I don’t mind at all, so when I was on stock suspension my wheels where 16x8 +0 Motegi MR150, with Falken wildpeak at3 265/75/16. Had no rubbing at all until I put on stock mud flaps (my truck didn’t come with them) and even after adding the mud flaps it was the slightest rub and only in reverse with the wheel at full lock.

Now I am on the eibach pro lift, on the lowest setting and it gave me about 2.25 inches of lift in front with a 2” spacer in the rear. I am now running RRW RR5-V wheels in 17x8.5 +0 with Falken wildpeak 285/70/17 (I really like these tires, I have them on my wife’s 4Runner also)

Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or if I missed anything.

    Awesome thanks!

how do you like the lift so far? I’m so in between trying to do something without a lift and just saying screw it and jumping right into lift with new wheels and tires.

Im not mechanically inclined what so ever so I’d have to have a shop do the lift and everything. Any suggestions?

I’ve been thinking about doing a 3” front and 2” rear with 275 tires

    or:

stick to the 265/75/16 and stock suspension then possibly run a level kit on the front of it rips. I’ve seen some people use Bilstein 5100 to level the front but what else would I need or is there a better way to level? I’ve heard mixed reviews with spacer lifts/levels so I’d like to do it the right way no matter the cost if that makes sense.

idk just a lot of second guessing myself partially because I’m afraid of screwing up my truck with the wrong lift kit/level.

I love the eibach lift, rides better than stock.

No tips on shops as I do everything myself on my truck, but Really any shop shouldn’t have an issue throwing the suspension on for you. Just find a good alignment shop that is familiar with Offroad/truck suspension set ups and fitting bigger tires so they can get you set up. My alignment is why I can fit 285s with bo rubbing on a 2” lift.

If your not looking for a bigger lift I would definitely say go 5100s and go with the setting that’s just under 1” lift in the front and just run 265/75/16s or 26570/17s with some new wheels. That is what I would have done if I didn’t go with the eibach lift. You will get a better ride and the front will be a little higher.

    really appreciate all the info!

quick question for you, I found this deal on FB marketplace. Method 701 in a 16- Tires are 285/75/16 so maybe I could save them for when I lift it. Seem like a good deal? Mostly just want them for the wheels and throw new 265/75/16 tires on them for now and keep the tires for if I decide to lift. What are your thoughts? Or I could just sell the tires outright and but new if I decide to lift

I may be wrong, but I thought I heard that you also need wheel spacers for the 285's???? maybe some people can correct me.

Thanks! Just a leveling kit. 2" in the front and 1" in the back.

Tires are 265/75/r16 on stock wheels with spidertrax 1.25" spacers.

Lights are oem LED from Toyota. They were $1350 and I needed a conversion harness since I have an SR5.

Yo, Classy Tacos, like the Vid's dude keep them coming. I wanted to do the spare tire mod but where I live it snows a good amount and I need to keep the back closed off so I want to get a swing tailgate and get a spare tire mount.
