I found these pictures on Facebook; This tracked Bronco is for sale at a dealer in Snohomish, Washington...

    Mattracks, or another brand?

    That is pretty sweet!

The closest Ford dealer to me is Chapman Ford in Horsham, Pennsylvania; The second-closest is Fred Beans Ford in Doylestown, Pennsylvania...

Chapman is not particularly bad, even in today's market; They seem to be listing new Broncos for anywhere from exactly sticker to $5K above sticker, depending on configuration, trim level, and options. Unfortunately, Chapman has had several thefts of vehicles from their lot recently and now forbids people from coming onto the property in Sundays. Most of the time you'll get lucky and you can wander around without incident, but sometimes there will be local cops there monitoring the property and they will immediately turn you away...

So yeah, I don't go to Chapman outside of business hours anymore, but that's another story...

Fred Beans has been gouging the shit out of hot ticket vehicles since well before COVID and this chip shortage; Last time I was there, they had 2-door Bronco with beefy tires (forget the trim) and they wanted $20K over sticker for the damn thing (for a total of $75K)! They had a 4-door Big Bend for $10K over sticker (just under $50K). I bet that old Fred will be charging $50K over sticker for any Bronco Raptor he gets his hands on, but one consolation is that the marked up Big Bend 4-door has been there for a few weeks, so that tells me at least some people around here don't have more dollars than sense and are helping calm down this MSRP madness by refusing to buy!

So I was wrong; The blue 4-door Big Bend was spoken for at the time I was there, and the 2-door for $20K over (an Outer Banks) was still there last time I drove past Fred Beans Ford...

I understand that the IIHS does a very good service, but it is a sin that they bought a new one right off the lot just to total it!

Those fender vents look quite authentic, because we all know velociraptors and falcons have gilles on the sides of their necks

I’m hoping there is carryover from the long travel suspension to the standard Broncos. I’d love to have the axles and suspension on mine.

There's a company out of Minnesota called Mattracks; They design bolt-on track systems that can be used with factory brakes, and they are quite popular in places where it snows a lot for obvious reasons!

The tracks look cool but the steering is still rack and pinion, not neutral or regenerative steering like a tracked vehicle. The left and right sides are not independently driven via independent motors or independent transmissions so really, all this has done is increase the vehicle's contact patch (tire / track footprint) at the expense of complexity. Really cool design and for sure will turn heads -- but c'mon a Bronco? What you need is this for Costco runs. Meals on Wheels Arctic Circle style.

That thing is tasty. I may just have to sell my other SUV’s and change to the Bronco Raptor. What if Toyota had followed through and made a removable roof FJ Cruiser with the 4.7 V8 that so many of us begged for? I can only imagine what the second generation of the FJ could have been if they had the guts of the lunatics from Mopar and The Ford SVT messing around with a vehicle in a skunkworks program.
Instead we get TRD stickers…. Cool, but not what TRD could really be if funded.
