the file extension says 488. Magnuson Tunes are locked - so you can not look into them or edit one like you could with an old OVT file.

I took the truck back to RSG this morning. They fixed everything today. Fixed the exhaust leak, it was the OEM gasket at the y-pipe sounds like @mZiggy @Formidable @GoldenBrew @a2lowvw. Got the correct tune from Magnuson for the 4.88's. Remounted the ODB2 port to its mount. Nothing catastrophic, and they apologized and made it right ASAP. First world problems, so I would trust them with my truck for future installs and work. Drew even paid for my Uber home this morning! At the end of the day, if I ain't gonna do it myself, thats all I can ask for. :bananadance:

1st gen - it's got a built engine, a turbo, and waaaaaaay too much to list. 3rd gen - basic-bitch lift, S/C, Pro Wheels

Did you get all your stock parts back this time? To include the tactrix cable and everything?

I had a good experience with remflex gaskets for my downpipe to y-pipe connection.

Remflex's came with the TT kit for turbo to downpipe and it's debatable about if they hold up well under that much pressure, but I kept having issues with the OE donut gasket for the y-pipe and resolved that with the remflex double bolt 2.25" gaskets there.

Part of the solution was also my Fabspeed O2 sensor spacers with mini cats too, so there's that, but you won't have to worry about that. Much different application.

I will, yes. Picking it up tomorrow. They kept it today after fixing everything just to test drive it and make sure the exhaust leak code didn't come back.

glad they got it fixed for you and Magnuson got you the 4.88 tune. If you are ever going to be out in the Golden area DM me in advance and lets catch up - I've got the same basic setup as you with 4.88 and AT except my tune is not the Magnuson. Drive safe and enjoy!

Enough teasin, I want that Yotawerx tune stat! But I'd love to meet up and chat with you regardless  I only have limited drive time on the SC so far, but I don't think the tune is awful compared to stock. The real test will be on the interstate above 70mph fully loaded. If the Yotawerx tune is that much better as you're all saying, I don't need any more convincing! :spending:

@GoldenBrew How much does your truck weigh on your average off-road trip (fully loaded)?

?? not sure about that - I tow a camper that weights 2800 loaded and I have a bed full of other stuff (two ice chests - one for beer and one or food). So I'd say my total additional weight (not including stuff and people in the cab) is about 3400 lbs. I try not to drive above 65 unless passing. 4.88's and the load make mileage drop pretty significant when 70 and above, and I always use the S mode.

not that I am aware of - V7 is the current one they continue to release even for new ECU ID's.

Best I can tell is Magnuson keeps making small revisions to their V7 tune but are not bumping the version number to 8

Doubtful. I imagine the various file differences being mentioned here are for the cold start fix and/gear ratio changes.

Typically we software developers don't reuse versioning when useful feature additions or hotfixes are added... but then again it's all conjecture unless Magnuson includes release specifics.

My thoughts exactly, granted Magnuson is not really a software shop. But who knows!

Well, supercharger has been in 1 week and truck only has 17000 miles. Already some clutch slippage. Hope it can hold out until spring when it warms up.

I guess this is that old good news, bad news thing eh?

At the very least I guess a slipping clutch proves you’ve got more horsepower!

I better I’ll start researching heavier clutches.

It’s a viscous circle I tell ya! A viscous circle!

    LOL

More power just finds the next weakest link. I expected it but was hoping it'd last a wee bit longer.
