Purchased a new head unit combo from Pro Grid Trail in Frederick MD. The combo comes with the head unit, PAC module to integrate the Steering wheel controls and the rear camera all connected and configured. Everything came assembled and mounted so it was a simple 20 minute plug and play job. I already had the speakers upgraded. Super upgrade that was well worth the price. Apple car play is great.

$665 for the combo. That's about the same price as my local dealer or Crutchfield to install (I live near them).

Does it reuse the original microphone?

Nice. If I get one, it's going to use Google Maps and have the ability to add things like Pandora. The stock Map setup is absolute shit. But they sure did make sure to have Toyota dealers on there... The fact you can't even download apps is pretty crappy.

sigh... more money to spend... :spending: (only IRL, unlike the emoji, I'm not smiling anymore - at least with this one)

It doesn't retain the original mic. I mounted the Sony mic on the steering wheel column just in front of the instrument panel so you don't really see it. The maps and Pandora with Carplay are really nice. Also the backup camera is now much cleared than the old unit.

I got sick of seeing mine in that location. So I taped mine to the top of the head unit and put it as close to the dash trim as I could. Everyone says they can hear me fine

Best thing I've done to the truck. Did you buy the bundle like i did or do the wiring yourself?

I wonder why none of these aftermarket stereo can utilize the OEM mic? I want to buy a headunit but I really don't want to lose any of the OEM interfaces including anything in the center display in the dash cluster.
