I bought a 1999 Tacoma SR5 extended cab about a week and a half ago. It has a camper shell. It needs a little work exhaust and alignment. I’m getting it repaired and inspected in 2 days. I’m going to be building out the shell for camping/ over landing trips. I used to own a 1990 Toyota pickup but I sold it back in 2018 to fund a trip to Italy. I’m excited to own a pickup again and get it ready for some fun adventures. Sourcing aftermarket parts such as bumpers etc has been challenging. This is definitely a budget build. Excited to learn about ideas here. I’m probably the oldest female on this forum but I’m young at heart. Thanks!

Well I got the bad news from my mechanic today. I need $1500 worth of repairs. It was freezing cold, icy abs snowy when I bought it. I thought it just needed an alignment and exhaust but it needs way more including new bushings, a new leaf spring( it’s broken),there are two holes in the frame, new exhaust, brakes and the ac compressor doesn’t work which I don’t care about right now in the middle of winter. It’s a bummer but I should have been more diligent.
