I have a stock 2014 single cab tacoma 4x4. Does anybody know the biggest size tire and rim combo I can go without any mods?

This question gets asked a million times a day in here, I suggest you search and look around in the Wheel and Tire Section. But tire size without any mods is 265/75/16 or 265/70/17

265/75 on 16x8 with 4.5” backspacing is what I have, I trimmed a tiny bit, took 5 min, and there’s no rubbing.

Welcome! We'd love to see some pics of your regular cab!

Like others have mentioned, 265/75/16, or 265/70/17 are the largest you can go on stock suspension without rubbing issues

Are you looking for 16 or -17inch size? Discount Tire Direct has extended their Thanksgiving Deal Sale until 11-29-17. You can save big on a tire wheel package. Here is a link where you can search for tires or wheels by vehicle or size:

265/75/16's will rub if you have front mudflats on a Gen2. It's fairly minor but distracting, and occurs when you turn into a slope or work the front suspension to the max. Eventually the stock mudflap will loosen and depart.

Sorry for the rookie question but what do you mean by 4.5" backspacing, also what part(s) did you trim a "tiny bit" and how did you trim them? Thanks

Here is a website that explains backspacing, and there’s a pic in here that shows it: https://realtruck.com/blog/wheel-offset-vs-wheel-backspacing/

You’ll figure out real fast what needs to be trimmed, if anything. I trimmed some plastic in the wheel well, towards the back. I think I used a razor blade. It’s pretty easy to do if it’s just plastic you’re trimming.
