Can someone explain to me why all rear bumpers are painted with parking sensors?Does the chrome effect the sensors in some way.I have painted bumpers with tech package and want to change to chrome.

I replaced my whole rear bumper with a steel one. My parking sensors are now poking through it and are having no problems. I believe that if your new chrome bumpers have the holes for the sensors then they will work since my metal bumper doesn't affect them. My finger in the photo below is pointing to one (of four) of the sensors installed in the new steel bumperSensor-Grommet Installed .jpg

Does anyone know if there is a way to reset or easily recalibrate the sensors?

    A few.
The painted bumper caps are an upgrade. The chrome is the base grade on the trd offroad. There is very little chrome on the truck other than those bumper caps which kibd of makes them look out of place imo

The chrome caps are even plastic so there should not be an issue.

I have an SR5 with parking sensors and chrome bumper caps from the factory. This is the rear parking sensor not blind-spot monitoring. I don't see an issue if you want to swap painted for chrome

Is that a steal bumper with BSM? How well does it work?

Do you have BSM on your truck?I think the chrome covers are plastic so they should not effect anything unless the glare off them has something to do with it?

Yes, it is an Apogee Off Road steel bumper. The BSM (square cutout on the right side of the pic)does indeed work. The bumper there has a plastic cover there which allows the BSM (Blind Spot Monitor) signal to pass through. I have had it on my truck 3 or 4 months now. Both the BSM and the parking sensors work great. I have a post on the Apogee bumper thread showing my install here.(Post #148)

I do not have BSM. The chrome caps are metal but I doubt glare would affect anything related to the parking sensor. I have no experience with the BSM system

My bad, I just checked the chrome caps are plastic. My gen 2 was metal so assumed it was the same, never assume.
