Can’t you use a standard 4Runner trim? There’s plenty of runners in yards around me I can check out for you

 

Ya they’re really common around here. It’s where I got my front 4.30 diff from, a 1996 4Runner Limited. That ratio for the front diff is Uber rare in the Tacoma. It was common on PreRunners

 

I used the shift console out of a 4Runner too when I did my 4WD swap. The black shifter and the black transfer case boot and knob look way better IMO.

 

For some God forsaken reason, Monica wants to keep the wood grain in the 4runner!

 

I am probably wrong but i don't think any tacomas came with a 4.30 front diff? what would the combo be, 2.4l 4wd reg cab???

 

Yep. That’s the real goal. Need more practice I think.

 

I added the dog mod to the 4runner today. They needed to get out of the house.

It’s debatable. I’ve never been able to find a 4.30 Tacoma front.

My truck was a PreRunner from the factory and had the 4.30 rear - I think it came on the 3RZ only

 

2.4s did not come in 4wd. Only 2.7 and 3.4

 

Lol!!! They make wood grain overlays I think for the black plastics.

Even if you did find one, good luck getting it out not broken.

I’ve been searching for a Prius transmission shifter trim for years. I’ve found - count it - 12!!! Priuses In the junkyard over time and every single one was already broken, or I cracked it trying to remove it.

 

It may have the only 2.4 4wd in existence.
