Both really active still and I wanna get another westie pup. If anyone knows of any reputable breeders in the northeast please let me know…I’m located in Harrisburg PA and def not wanting to ship a dog so would need to be local or within driving distance. Thanks in advance!

I am open to a rescue but also want a westie. You rarely find Westies in rescues from my experience.

Probably because Westies are such great dogs and nobody wants to give them up; I've never met a mean one!

Awesome dogs! Huge personalities in a compact little body haha. And they love the outdoors. I have a doggie door to my fenced in yard and he just spends most of the day outside regardless of the weather.

It’s not about what you want. He’s waiting. Sometimes you get what you need. I want pics when he’s home. Not mine but here are some happy campersBBD07F00-3C96-4DD4-8155-54FAA7910B63.jpg

So true. Mine, 13 years young, likes to go on "walk about" but stays, more or less, in our yard. Gotta bring him in in the cold because he just does not care about the weather. You can tell when he is going AWOL as he will pause at the hedge and glance back to see if anyone is watching him. So funny. We have dogs behind us and on one side and he will visit them at the property line and just telepathically chat or something. Never any barking. He is such a cool dog. Deaf now but eyesight and smell work and he has a little sister (mix) who can get him going when real or imaginary noises happen. :)

We got a call from a rescue that if we didn’t want her she was next to be put down. F0497BE0-8301-469D-B86A-A9211CE8549E.jpgJazz is a good one (most of the time)

Westies are good dogs. Although, they can be hard to find....even breeders are a bit scarce.

You might consider opening your list of breeds. Miniature Schnauzers are good dogs just a little taller than a Westie. There are many Terrier breeds that would compare well in temperament as the Westie.

I got my mini-schnauzer while I was working in China. Yes, I imported him to the USA when I returned. Transporting a dog is easy when using a Pet Relocation service. They know all the details for transporting.

Keep in mind, Terriers are hunters. Mine has killed 5 rats while we were in China. He smelled a mouse in the basement and was on the hunt. The mouse was soon found and dispatched to another world.

Another source may be Breed specific rescues.

    Good Luck with your search.

We had two mini Schnauzers before the Westy. The last one overlapped. They were great but the Westie has been greatx10. He was/is also our first male dog. Not sure if that changes his temperament. He's super cool though.
