I have been wanting to do this, but have put it off due to not knowing exactly what lb rating to get as I couldn't seem to find what the Redline Kits were. When I looked at the link you provided I found they cant be shipped to Idaho, but then found these that appear to be the same, are cheaper, and have a few other lb ratings. I might try the 60lb's just so in the winter they don't get weak and overtime drop the hood on my nogin.

I looked into those but didn’t love the fact that you’re removing the fuse from the system with the ford diode.

I’m running the fixed voltage mini blade version which is much cheaper than the adjustable version. The peace of mind from maintaining the fuse was worth $50 to me.

Well I'm sure there are way more options on Amazon .com than .ca!
The weight rating of the struts are per strut (from what I understand). So I had a capability to lift 200lbs and now it will be 80lbs. The hood is pretty heavy but not 80lbs heavy. Even with wet snow on it lol
I'm sure the 60lbs struts will be fine!

I will see how the new ones perform in the winter.

What kind of mirror did you get? OEM?
My passenger mirror glass has been cracking more and more for the last 2 years.
I bought a replacement lens and went to replace it and the mirror assembly is aftermarket. The lenses are not replaceable on aftermarket ones I guess.

I should have checked before buying the new lens... I always noticed that the mirror looked different than the other one. Damn!

Haha yep, didn't catch the .ca part. No wonder they didn't want to ship them to me!

Ok, I appreciate the info. I still have some time before I get up the money for it so I have plenty of time to source help and buy those items.

    Thanks again

definitely do your research on your lift too cause it will probably change 8 times. Cant go wrong with a 5100/OME pairing up front I think it rides better than stock.

It’s just a cheap light strip I got off Amazon and hooked up to a switch that goes to my auxiliary battery. Here is the link: https://amzn.to/3HeWqeQ

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
Not sure if this info helps in this situation, but I had a mirror lense break one time and I broke the rest of the pieces out and made a template out of cardboard that I took to a local glass and mirror shop and they cut a new lense for me the exact shape I needed. I just put it in with some 3M double-sided tape and was good to go. It was fairly cheap. If your new lense needs to be re-shaped to fit, that might be an option to consider.

Just a heads up 5100's set on 0" with OME 883's will net you a 1" lift in the front. Pair that with a Wheelers Offroad AAL (remove your overload leaf) will net you 1.5" in the rear. This is the route I went because I wanted a small lift. No vibrations that I can tell of and still retains the perfect OEM rake look.

Edited: I also have the OME carrier bearing spacer kit as someone mentioned above.

I would have pulled over to let my heart rate come down. Boy that was close. Kudos to you for actually paying attention to the task at hand (ie. driving).

The OEM mirror lenses can be replaced very easily. Just tilt the mirror all the way up, slide a flat head screw driver in the back, twist the screw driver to pop the lens out. Done.
The aftermarket assembly seem to have the mirror screwed in from the back somehow. It's a totally different style and manufactured differently.

I don't think your method would help me.
A new replacement lens is only $30 aftermarket ($70 OEM), and a new aftermarket assembly is $60-$100 ($185 OEM). All CAD$.
