We’re in two separate vehicles. Both 5th Gen 4Runners. All okay, just definitely not getting out on our own. Waiting on a recovery guy that’s local but figured I would reach out here first. Ended up on a trail that was mainly for snowmobiles and when we stopped we kept sinking.

How deep are you buried ?? And are you high centered ???

Do you have shovels , traction boards or downed tree limbs or pine bows ?? That you can use to regain traction??

i wish I could post pictures to explain my situation a little better.
    List of recovery items:
    Hi lift
    Recovery strap
    Winch
    Tree saver
    Shackles

we managed to turn around on the road but can’t seem to get enough momentum to move more than 10ft. The snow is hard packed on top but if you stop you sink in past the ice layer.
We used momentum to get to where we are but the hill that we went down will be almost impossible to go back up. The roads that are near us on the road haven’t been traveled so it’s hard to tell how deep it is. At this point we can keep trying to unbury ourselves, however; we can seem to move or get any traction. Even with 4 low and lockers engaged.

we kept driving because the 1st vehicle got stuck and we were trying to find a spot to turn around but moved out of winch range. The road that we were planning on taking to turn around was not drivable so we kept trying to find a way out. Now we’re on the same road with approximately 1.5 miles between us. They’re in the same situation as us waiting for a recovery vehicle.

Right now my rig is down with a broken strut tower or I'd already be on my way. Know any good welders? lol

Hey man. I got your PM but figured it's best to just reply here. Snow conditions will improve the colder it gets. If you can get on top of the snow again I'd wait until dark before driving out. The colder temps will firm up the snow.

If your still at 10 PSI try going down to 6. 4 PSI doesn't seem like much but in snow it's a lot. The more you can increase the tires footprint the less likely you are to break back through.

You mentioned lockers. Are you locker front and rear or just rear? If your not locked in the front you can mimic one by two footing it. Drive with your left foot slightly on the brake and your right on the gas. That makes an open front diff think it's a quasi locked diff.

Who are you waiting on for the recovery?

Do either of you have tire chains you can put them and it'll give you more traction
