I finally got my truck back after having the interior replaced due to the brake light leak after dropping it off for inspection 11 Oct. Talking to the service advisor she said there is a national backorder on many of the interior bits that might need to be replaced. She said they had two other trucks in the shop still awaiting parts due to the repair campaign and they still have no ETA on parts.

It started as a drop off and expected to return later in the day that ended up being almost a 4 month ordeal.

The good news is I have my truck back. The bad is they can't find my front and rear seat jackers when they removed the interior and carpeting over three months ago, lost the cover for the center dash USB port, lost one of my work gloves stashed in the understeat tool bin and may have nicked my Ipod Nano that I kept in the center console.

Technician who took it apart back then was not working the day I picked it up so I'll go in tomorrow and see what happens. The only thing I'm really pissed about are the seat jackers, that's $300 to replace.

I'm happy to have the truck back but it feels foreign now that I can't get the seats to the familiar position.

I have a feeling I'll be buying another set and getting compensated in service appointments. I already get free oil changes there for buying the truck at that dealership service so it might be awhile before I recoup. I'm not in a hurry to take it back to them for awhile for anything right now.

If anyone here has to take their truck in that might be leaking, be advised of the possible delay, be sure to remove everything inside as a precaution and be prepared that it may not be returned exactly as you turned it over.

They did give me a 2021 SR5 Premium 4runner for the entire time so I don't feel completely screwed over but I'm a little pissed my truck isn't 100% in the condition I turned it over. It did guarantee I'll have a 4runner in the driveway for the wife when inventory and price becomes more reasonable.

    Dayum.

I saw a video the other day I think it was GMC, that had firewall/wheel well area breaches and that's how water got in, also from the rear somewhere too. For the cost, they should have chalked it up, but they didn't... They replaced it.

Apparently it was worse than yours, but still, that's a lot of work because of such a small overlook. Sorry you had this happen, and at least your baby is back! You'll get the right seat adjustment after a couple drives ;)

UPDATE: Seat jackers located, tech had them locked away in a box with his tools. He thought I'd pick up the truck on Monday instead of Saturday.

I'll get a new USB socket to replace the missing cover.

Now I need to get rid of the strong chemical smell that was used to kill the mold.
