1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

Currently have Cooper STT Pro's in 315/70/17 on all 5 wheels -



I want to go 33s for when these are done, but may go with the milder Cooper Discovery AT's in 285/70/17. Worst case, I'll go with the Toyo's.

Are you going with the ST Maxx's?

 

It turns out that we have a city park about 10 minutes from me with no drone restrictions. I want to get out every weekend to try something new. State and National Parks are off-limits.

 

I think an AT in 33 would be great (I ran 285 on the 100 and never wanted for more, back then I wasn't as aware of 255 I might've tried them first, depending on what you're getting into I guess)
I was going to do Maxx, want a little more tooth than my old AT3. In 235 they're available, so are KO2 if I want to switch back. I guess I could look into 33x10.5x15

 

There are 6 results nationwide when you search Autotrader for a 14 reg cab with under 75K on it, this freak is one...on Kings, TC lowers, front and rear metal, etc, 26K miles CA truck. Not mad at it. (besides the price, Ima sucker for a 2nd gen reg cab)

I bet the dealer took the tailgate off, tossed a net on it and will sell you the exact color matched tailgate for $1,499.

You find them cheap out there; they're usually $400ish here.

Worse when they have crappy tires and insist they 'add value'

 

An old Native buddy who is no longer around showed it to me years ago. We were on street bikes at the time and he tipped his 1800cc Harley over in the mud at least 3 times that day, I was happy to be on a much lighter Yamaha

Tangential anecdote...

I sold my OG spare wheel with a 1997 DOT date code. I specifically said in the listing that despite the perfect tread, the tire was too old to be safe for street use, so I'm really just selling a clean steelie. Guy emails me and says "Tire is too old", offers me less than I was asking (I don't remember the exact numbers at this point). I accept because I mostly want the thing gone and didn't have any other interest.

When the guy shows up to take it he tells me he's going to use the wheel and tire as a spare on on his truck.

Some people just feel compelled to haggle.
