Sweet! I live on KBay, so I'm familiar with your fantastic view as well. The staff at Windward have been great so far too. Plus I loved the no markup policy and the fact that my salesman was basically able to "order" exactly what I wanted...no dealing with regional distribution like the mainland. Enjoy that truck!

Modifications are bad and only bad people modify.
Not at all! Just open the manual transmission fill plug to check with your pinky, and if low add a little, or just replace entirely, just like a diff. At any rate, I hope you enjoy your truck man!

@forana, another recommendation for a potential tune source would be Valley Tuning (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/official-valley-tuning-thread.713747/). Not sure how their MT tune is, but I had the Valley Runner on my 2017 AT and it really changed how the truck drove for the better (way better IMO).

Also +2 on @su.b.rat's recommendation for an aftermarket shifter knob. My custom Delrin knob purchased from @7r41lbr34k3r (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...r-utilizes-factory-boot.534205/#post-17153973) will definitely be making its way into the new truck!

Congrats on the truck! You sound just like me. I went from a 2010 to a 2021.
Throttle response is shit. As others have stated get the KDMax tune. I just did this a week ago and wish I did it went I first got my truck.

Great call on the manual. The clutch will stiffen up as you break it in but the catch point takes some getting use to.

it seems like there should be some adjustment to get rid of that dead feel at the beginning of the pedal travel.

Clutch takes a while (1000 miles) to seat and feel 'normal' but with the hydraulic dampner, it will never feel like a straight clutch. Trans can be sticky too while it breaks in. Everything will feel better at 7500 miles.

    Some additional observations so far:
-Damn this truck is fun to drive. It revs up fast and with the MT, its a joy to drive.
-I hate all the headlight settings so I just leave it on auto
-it feels bigger than the 2nd gen when driving, it's a few inches bigger but it feels bigger than that.
-love that the mpg resents automatically when you fill up gas
    -The turning radius is better
    -The air conditioner is STRONG

    -Picking up the bakflip tomorrow!!!
