My father in law got me interested in off roading just down the river from it. He had a first gen taco that he would put in 4lo 1st gear and just let the truck drive itself down old creek beds. Never saw him hit the gas or brake :rofl:he use to run shine around those parts and would flat out scare the shit out of you on those mountain hairpins.

Yeah it's Kairos. I haven't been there in my 4runner yet, but been on my crappy trail bike. Definitely want to take the 4runner there one time

Dang, I used to waterfowl hunt all down that way in Maidens, Glyn Lyn, etc.

Do they let jeeps, t4r and tacos out there...figured it was more for bikes and side-by-sides.

S.O.S. Gwen's car has a screw in the rear tire and it's lost some air. Reached out to friend but no response yet. Anybody in the Fairfax that might be able to help her. I'm useless for a day or two.

Where in Fairfax is she? Crap, just realized I don't have a portable compressor. Wonder if I can grab one from somewhere.

Looks like Nick is on the way. I can't thank you guys enough. My wrist is not usable for 24 hours, so all I can do is type.

Edit: Nick is to the rescue. Too many names floating around.

From what I remember a group can rent out the trails for a weekend for about what you would pay for a day at Rausch or aoap. MS overland featured it a few years back on YouTube. https://youtu.be/JFQUJt68MH0

Tire question. We need two new ones for Gwen's car. Her exact replacement is two weeks out through Ford. Have to check others. Is ok to run similar treads (2 &2), on an AWD or should I wait for the exact tire and chance the donut holding up? She'll need the car for work starting the 8th.

I've always heard that for AWD cars you should run all four matching. Are they able to source the tires from another vendor?? If you decide to run the donut, be sure and check the air pressure. I eyeballed it last night and it looked fine, but I'd feel better if there was an actual pressure gauge on it.

Dave is correct. The circumference of all 4 tires need to be within certain tolerances or it will bind the drive train.

if it’s just a nail or screw in the tire I would recommend just putting a plug in it.
