quick rear susp. question

    I'm trying to figure out everything that I need to save for when I purchase some all-pro leaf springs. So far its just extended brake lines, but my question is will I need greasable shackles for these leaves? or will stock shackles be fine?

    stock shackles work fine. I have the 3" leaf pack from all pro and i just reused the shackles.

    Stock shackles will be fine. However...buying the greasable bushings & greasable bolts to put in your leafs (at the eyelets) would be highly beneficial especially down the road....

    I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
    I too bought allpro leafs and I'm using the stock shackles I will mostlikely upgrade to greaseble ones. But for now I'm just going to stick with the stock ones.

    Sounds like thats what I will end up doing then. Do you have any idea where I can I get just the greasable bolts and bushings from?

    will new u-bolts be needed? I'm gonna imagine that the new pack will be a bit thicker since it is a progressive. also does anyone have stock measurements of the rear suspension from ground to fender? I'm debating the expo leaves but they do state they will give 1" more lift over the standard 3" leaves.

    :thumbsup: No problem. Wheeler's treated me very well when I was purchasing all of my suspension parts.

    U-bolts - yes. You may want to have front hanger bolts on hand too - the old ones can be especially difficult to remove.

    I know the stock height measurements are around here somewhere...if I run across them I will report back!

    how many inches longer than stock would you think for the u-bolts? it would be handy to just know how thick the leaf pack is but allpro doesn't list that info.

    Im gonna leave the front hanger bolts up to the shop thats installing all this. I would love to put everything on myself but with my schedule and parents always afraid of me getting underneath a jacked up truck it just doesn't look like its gonna happen. not to mention every time i work on it something goes wrong, don't ask about my 3 day exhaust install....:anonymous:

    Any feedback on the Beefed Taco carrier bearing drop with the AllPro 3" springs? Did you install both at the same time, or did you install the CB drop to correct a drive shaft vibration? If the latter, did it fix the problem?

    Thanks for any information. I'm trying to cure a drive shaft vibration after a spindle lift (front) and AllPro 3" spring lift (rear).

    It will be a while before I get everything I'm just rounding up certain parts and the funds for springs. I got the bracket and it's one very beefy piece of metal. It states that it'll drop the carrier bearing 2 3/8 inches if that helps you any.
