New to Tacoma's, needed a new hobby and this has been fun, my goal is to do everything myself. I have little experience working on cars so should be a fun learning process.

I live in Salt Lake City, so Moab and lots of other trails are just a short drive away. Want to primarily build something that I can take camping on a moments notice but can handle rough trails. I have another car as my daily driver so I can keep this as purely for fun.

Market is crazy rn but found a good deal on a 2021 TRD Pro with only 10k miles.

Wanted to get an Off Road and upgrade everything myself but the price difference was so small I went with the Pro and I liked the Lunar Rock.

I did a lot of research on upgrading the entire suspension vs the Westcott designs kit.

Ended up deciding on just doing the kit and using the Fox suspension and upgrading later.
Jeff Westcott worked at TRD for a long time so I trust the product and so far the ride has been as good as stock but now I can fit 33's :)

Installing the lift was a learning process, took about 6 hours, had trouble getting the spring compressors on without rubbing the struts too much and then also getting the rear leaf springs to separate from the axle but I eventually figured it out.

I also threw on some Raptor lights and a grill emblem for fun.

Testing new suspension and tires with my son :)

Next I threw on a Diamondback HD cover, mainly to be able to keep gear in the bed and not worry about it but also to keep it from getting dusty and dirty while off road.

And last mods (for now) threw on a Prinsu Rack and an iKamper Mini. I used the Frontrunner rack system to install the iKamper, I wanted to keep a low profile aerodynamic look for the rear and the integration with the bed cover is pretty great, a full overland rack didn't make sense.

I just plastidipped all the chrome on the iKamper to stick with the all black theme but don't have pics of that yet.

I also did a KDMaxx tune. that completely changed how the truck drives, highly recommend.

I've got a bunch more stuff ordered that should be here in next few weeks I'll update when I get them on.

Heretic Studios 40" LED light bar
Heretic Studios 20" Amber light bar
    CBI Sliders
    CBI Front Bumper
CBI Rear Bumper w/ Dual Swing Arms
    Alpharex rear tail lights
    Mountain Hatch tailgate cover
    Total Chaos bed stiffeners
    Rubber bed mat

After these mods I'll focus mostly on gear, light switches etc.

    Thanks for stopping by :)

How are you liking the Westcott Designs 2" leveling kit? Any rubbing with the 285's?

No rubbing at all - suspension rides a lot better actually, especially road driving. Stock was a bit soft and would dip a lot in the front when braking, now its a lot less. Offroad I didn't notice any difference just more clearance obviously. I'm adding a lot of weight with bed cover, rtt, sliders and bumpers so I'm hoping pre loading the suspension with the Westcott kit will make it stiff enough to not make too much of a difference but we will see. If its too much I'll try adding a leaf and if that doesn't work new suspension.

CBI Sliders went on last night, I like the 20 degree angle, installation was pretty straight forward definitely needed help holding them up but once you get one bolt in they stay on and the rest is easy, the instructions are a couple years old and the kit was a little different but overall really happy with them.

40in Heretic light bar and new tail lights coming soon. I like the Pro head lights but I may try and tint them darker. Front and rear bumpers ordered but I'm guessing those will be a while.

Thanks for sharing. I have a 2022 TD Off Road in Lunar rock. I am becoming obsessed with tire weights while I am trying to choose a tire. I want a 33 height-ish without robbing too much power and MPG. Your tires weigh 58lbs each. Did you notice a rob of power and big drop in MPG? I love the look and stance.

Do they make that lift for a 2020 pro yet? I didn’t see it on the website.
