I know there are bunch of us who may have started with stick bows (me at 14 in 1968 ) and made the transition to training wheels and like me killed a bunch of animals with them but finally decided to go back to the simplicity of a stick and string. Being it long bow or hybrid or recurve for me was a big relief from all the keeping pace with all the new gadgets and add ons and faster and on and on. STOP!
Back to recurves and really enjoying shooting in the back yard regularly. My older brother who I grew up shooting with says he's not dedicated enough to go back to a stick bow. Too easy to set sights and forget about it till next season opens.
I love shooting my stick bow as often as possible and it's great stress relief for me to forget about life's anxieties if only for 30 minutes. Plus I'm not starving and don't HAVE TO KILL something when I'm in the woods. Getting super close to an animal and being able to see it's eye lids gets my heart pounding. Getting a deer insides 15yds gets my heart pounding, buck or doe.

Can't eat horns and somebody always says "Mine scored bigger" but mine was more rewarding.

Love to hear from you other stick and one string guy.

I shoot a Blacktail Sitka take down. 44lbs at 30"
Not my biggest but the first trad kill after having arm nerve surgery six years ago after almost having to stop altogether. I was stoked for sure.
