Scored some TRD Pro headlights. Should be a nice improvement over the original lights that are getting cloudy (again). I'm going to get the protected with xpel before I install them. It'll be nice to not have to buff them every 6 months.

 

Needed some fresh air so we loaded the kids in the truck and when to Tahoe. Did some exploring for disbursed camping locations for next year since it's getting a bit cold at 8,300ft for camping with kids.

 

Just did a 'quick read' through your pages, nice to time travel this way.
And yes, Fuck Cancer. Found cancer about four years ago. Caught it early, everything was 'with in the margins'. Had it removed and have been testing clear ever since, thank God!

It's finally home

 

Hell yeah, that thing is bad ass. Hopefully it was worth the wait.

 

Very happy with it. The Tacoma tows it so much better than our last trailer. Other than the fuel gauge dropping faster you can't really tell it's behind the truck. I can go about 200-230 miles at 75mph before I need fuel. I'll spend some more time with it on the trails later this month to get an idea of what the off road range will be.

Spent some time getting the trailer dialed in for family trips this weekend.

We could have ordered it with a second bunk but the plan is as soon as the kids are a bit older we will be kicking them out into their own tent and with the second bunk you lose the fold out table which I wanted for a workspace when we take longer trips. Today I threw together a platform with scrap wood from our fence project to get the youngest out of our bed. The legs are attached with wing nuts so it doesn't take up much room when not in use.







Also spent a minute admiring the truck and trailer and took a minute to point out to my wife the pin striping she picked up on the trailer down in Mojave It matches the truck even more now. In a couple weeks I'll have the F5s installed on the trailer.

 

Fan switch on the HVAC was only giving me Off or Hi at the end of our trip home with the trailer. Replaced the blower motor resistor and harness...truck is a bit less Japanese and a bit more taco now but everything is working as it should again.

 

Got the tires swapped over to the F5s for the trailer. Need to find some tuner ET lug nuts that are open or I have to cut the wheel lugs shorter because the gorilla lug nuts I have bottom out on them.

 

Quick run up the hills with the kids this evening to watch the storm blow over the mountain

Thanks @Pops101056. Hope you had an enjoyable Christmas! Our Christmas was one to remember with all the highways closed here we couldn't ski, which is our usual Christmas morning activity. Instead we ventured out to go sledding but ended up having to recover a bunch of stuck vehicles on a one lane dirt road.

 

Shoutout to @theolee for the help designing these. 10 years has flown by...happy to report I ain't dead yet either
