1st Toyota.... bought a 98' Tacoma with a 2.7 3 years ago with 262,000 miles on her and now at 284,000.
It was just brought up from Washington to Alaska when I bought it, not a speck of rust even underneath and a smooth running 4 cylinder with no leaks to speak of. I love the little truck and just bought an OME lift for it since it needed new shocks and leafs anyway.
Been reading up alot here and have been actively looking for another 2.7 that I can rebuild and have waiting on an engine stand for the day it's needed. There doesn't seem to be an abundance of them that anyone wants to part with.... thanks for the forum, having fun reading everyone's post.20210212_075707.jpg

A little of this and a little of that.
    Welcome to TW!

I used to have a white 1998 Tacoma access cab 4WD, but it had the 3.4 V6. Your truck looks good for the years and miles.

I have seen mention of the fluid film here. My intention was to clean underneath really good once the snow is gone and under coat the frame with undercoating then just touch up yearly as needed.
What are the advantages of the fluid film over the other option? Haven't used the stuff but appears to be hi zooting lubricant that will wash off and while there be a grimy mess to collect dirt and such??? Am I misunderstanding the product and/or its effectiveness? I am going to tackle the preservation of the frame this spring for sure so any input on it would be welcome...I'll also practice use of the search function here.

The TW search function is garbage. Just Google whatever your looking for adding "Tacoma World" to the search. You'll get better results.
