Definitely, the thing that would make it a better city to visit would also make it more expensive haha. I think there are some similar places in Pennsylvania and New England. Not sure if they are still open but they also aren’t the same scale and I don’t think they have the same options.

then there was Daniel Dhers that opened up a big facility in NC but I think that might have closed too

I used that once and started lactating mid ride.

Joking aside I have used womens chamois butter without issue. Now the euro formula is an eye opener.

    not enough.
Yeah. I'm a MTB and I ride gravel occasionally to spice things up. Gets me the opportunity to just grind away fast on a paved path or grind up hard on a fire road efficiently. I don't enjoy the road portion of my rides but I road ride to get to the gravel sections. Then the fun really begins. I really do enjoy the light bike and efficient pedaling in comparison to my full suspension bikes. But this is more of an occasional thing. I'm only 1k into my gravel rig total. That Jamis Renegade though. SICK gravel rig. My buddy has a 2019 and I'm jealous.

Thanks. The Jamis is great. My group does a good mix of road and gravel riding. Last month we went to Florida keys and rode about 200 miles over 4 days. We all (but one) rode our gravel bikes. Even though we were mostly on pavement, the gravel bikes are just more comfortable.

Pages and pages of gravel bike talk is what happens when too many of us aren't getting out on the trails regularly.

Had a buddy at the end of this season wreck his shoulder right in front of me on a DH trail. Ended up tearing some ligaments so he’s been off a bike for a few months now. I was on my Marlin 6 at the time, so I was taking it easy thankfully. Post up some pictures of your Roscoe if you get a chance!

A bit of truth here, and I was definitely a part of gushing about how much I've enjoyed my gravel bike despite my expectations. I forced myself to drive a couple hours away to get the new MTB out on some dry trails last weekend. Now there's nothing within a remotely reasonable drive from Denver that will be rideable for a while.

I need some advice on repairing my bike. I have a 2007 Gary Fisher Marlin. Riding on the trail yesterday, this happened. No wreck, not shifting, just riding along and it fell off.

What do I need to buy to repair this? I know it is the rear derailleur and I have 8 gears in the back, but I don't find many 8 speed derailleurs on the web. It broke where I circled with white.
Here are a couple more pics if it helps.

Thanks for any assistance. I really like riding this bike.

whew boy that could get real tricky.

you need a new derailleur hangar. there are a ton of different styles from around that year too. you might have some good luck here https://derailleurhanger.com/manufacturer/gary-fisher/ looks like you may want hangar 6, but don't quote me on that

ive also been able to get a similar one then use a grinder to get the exact shape i need.

Thanks @mrtonyd So I can replace the hangar, not the entire unit. Great, I'll check out the link. Thanks again.

from the limited information and images you attached, yea i'd say you only need to replace the hangar.

hangars are wear and tear items on bikes that are meant to break instead of the actual derailleur or the bike frame.

also, the first picture makes it look like it was welded at some point? maybe it was a weak weld that fell off from shifting stress? no idea

when someone says they were just riding along and something broke, doesn't really give a whole lot to look for
