Hi all, has anyone mounted an overland rack with a tonneau cover? I have a 2019 TRD Off-Road and the Putco Venture tec rack seems like the best option but it's a stake pocket mount and I don't think my truck has them . I have a Roll n lock cover. Thanks all!

Check out KB Voodoo. The have brackets that will allow you to put an overland rack on a tonneau, even roll up ones.

Yep. Check out my build thread for pics. One of the best purchases I’ve made…

    https://billiebars.com/products/bed-bars-for-tacoma-trucks

Amazing product and absolutely great customer service. I met with one of the two owners of the company when I picked my BillieBars up and they are great dudes; Really committed to making a sturdy and functional product.

There are some good videos on YouTube that people have done about them as well.

The roll'n lock cover is notoriously difficult to work with.

We specialize is making tonneau compatible racks, but you may need to get a different cover.

Check out our racks here: https://www.max-modular.com/shop-max-modular

Let us know if you need guidance on selecting a compatible cover.

We have an answer for the billie boys coming in just a couple weeks.

They aren't going to like what they see.

Awesome, thank you for the info. So with the Roll 'n Lock it's not looking so good? Said cover came with the truck so I was hoping it might work.

If you're INCREDIBLY handy, you might be able to make your cover work, but for most people it's not going to happen.

Haha! Fair enough, thank you. What would be the most user friendly cover to use with your rack?

Our first suggestion would the RetraxONE XR.

It's a retractable cover, so it will fully function with the rack installed. It has built in tracks, for which we have designed special brackets so the rack can attach directly to the cover: https://www.max-modular.com/shop-max-modular/retraxone-xr-brackets

Very much appreciated. May I ask what it is about the roll n lock that isn't compatible with the tonneau mounts from Voodoo?

Our tonneau brackets have to go under the cover, and attach to the factory accessory rail. The roll n lock prevents that from happening.

Thank you. I will order a test clip and see if I can figure something out. Figures the cover that came on the truck would be very limited lol

Sounds like a plan. If you're handy, you might be able to make it work.

Let us know how it works out, and let us know if we can help.
