Just went to put in my locker after spending an hour in parts washer cleaning and removing bearings and realized I have 3 shafts for the locker instead of the 4 on the grizzly. Found out I have a posi rear end with a gt5 eaton m80 lsd so now I have to get an open carrier.

now I have to buy this. Open carrier to fit the locker I bought. This is getting expensive and I haven't even got the the expensive part!!!!

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001GI0SMU?ie=UTF8

I’ve spent 10k ish already and I need so much more.

If you plan on 40’s you may want to consider a 1st gen supercharger $1200 ish plus rebuild kit or a $4000 URD to get those 40's down the road or up the rock.

In all fairness you dont need the supercharger! Just install the lowest gears you can and drive the truck like a 4spd.

The Harbor freight parts washer paid for itself on all this rear end black oil. Figured out a way to clean inside the housing as well. Parts cleaner solvent is ruined but worked well.

No, the parts washing unit is fine. No problems at all. The actual solvent is ruined. Its totally black instead of clear. Just have to filter it and clean the tub. Then put back and ill get some more use out of it.

Taking brackets off of axles is not for pu$$ys! Got my ass beat for almost 2 hrs on one side. Mainly on the leaf mount. Gonna plasma cut those off on other side.

Yeah the lift is nice. Have a Hobart 210 mvp mig. My plasma cutter is cutting so shitty that I was afraid to use it on housing until the new tip kit comes.

Cleaning axles sucks! I was fortunate to be able to clean off my FZJ80 rear in the shop at work with a forklift and plasma. I couldn’t imagine having to do it on the garage floor with a grinder

Yeah, the forklift is nice. I used my 520 lift which was good. If not, my back would be done. I finished the other side today and it took me way less time. Now just have to wire brush it.

That floor drain you have is money! I have to sweep, mob and blow the shop out with the blower... Would be nice to just sweep and hose into a drain. lol

When I did my SUA conversion I just ended up giving in and only cutting enough to get by with the new brackets. :anonymous:
If I was doing it for someone else or as a business I'd put in the full effort, but it's mine so.

Took the t case apart to grind shift forks and I don't think it is needed. Once the tic tac is gone they shift. Gonna install twin tomorrow and see whats up. Just got them tonight.

Took the trans out to swap with the 4wd once I wire brush it. Kind of a pain in the ass to take out by myself but got it done in.

The existing bump stop pads on the 14 bolt were lined up within a 1/4 inch or so of where the leafs are supposed to go. I almost tried to make them work but said fuck it and just got rid of all of them.

Just fab yourself an axle stand/work table and use an engine hoist to move the axle around. Made welding much easier vs being low on the ground.
