Started seeing a few around southeast Michigan. A client has one (believe he works for them though). He let me take it for a day and mess around with it. Interesting ride and concept.

I missed the sound of the engine and exhaust though ha.

I work on Diesel/Electric Hybrid vehicles. One system has 600v D/C system that is similar to the Prius. Engine running through a transmission with 2 A/C motors built in, driving the differential. The other 666v D/C is a Engine driven Generator that powers an A/C traction motor with no direct connection between the engine and the driveline. Where the danger come from in these systems, yes, the high voltage but even more so is the Lithium battery packs. One has 12, the other has 15. And a single 44vdc pack packs a punch.

It cost me about half what people are paying for Tacoma’s. It was that or another motorcycle. My car has a/c and clear music and I can have a conversation with my passenger. Rain, cold/hot ass SE TX weather doesn’t bother me much either. Plus I sold my last motorcycle because anything under 120mph just felt really slow. Not saying I run around in my car that fast but the bike always felt like it needed to go at least that fast. I’ve rode for 36 years, I feel like I came out ahead.

If only the bed was 6" longer... 4.5' is really a non starter and makes the proportions look off.

I love it, that article uses all SAE units for power & torque of the motor. But uses a metric drink can for scale lolol. Does no one proof read or edit these articles?
