I did wire the new one directly, the existing one had hardwired pigtails.

Would have been better to just leave the wire nuts only

We swapped old gross ones out with Glacier Bay ones from Home Depot. They were on sale for $100 or so (normally like 150?). But had the dual flush modes. Outside of not being soft close lids they work great. Flush great too. The basic flush is generally all that's needed

In my attic there is a switch labeled ‘furnace’. Since we are expecting our first freeze of the season tomorrow, I took the car out of the garage and went up there to flip it on. Car back in the garage, then we good.

Turns out, ‘furnace’ means ‘entire fucking HVAC system’ and the switch was upside down.

Car back out, climb up again, grumble grumble.

Incidentally, tomorrow will be my kids first ever snow day. We have lived in Alaska for most of her life. L O L

I got mine from Wayfair last year. Of course it's dual flush. Comes with the soft close quick release lid. I like that it's 1 piece and has a skirted bottom, also the tank is very thin so it's not taking up the whole wall.

Replaced older/damaged baseboard with taller 1x6 (pre-primed pine). Customer had some water damage in the basement from a failed sump pump. They're prepping to sell. Nothing too difficult. Customer wasn't even planning on painting. They were happy. Paid me $50 more than what I billed.

Sat my fat rear end in it.
I put a couple of these in my previous home...though they didn't cost this much then.

Chose them because they had elongated bowls but only took as much space in those tiny bathrooms as most round bowls. Also liked 1 piece for being easier to clean and the slightly taller than standard seat height.

The flush seemed frighteningly un-energetic, but I didn't ever have one clog.

Kohler. Your junk will thank you with the elongated bowl.

Toilets are used every day, it is a worth wile investment, like a mattress or pillow. Don't try to save a buck, get a nice one and enjoy it.

Yeah, price on some brands will leave you flushed but you get what you paid for. :)
