Is this a thermal improvement or a UV blocker?

    UV is 99%
    IR rejection is 92%
    TSER (heat rejection) is 65%

    Kind of both actually....

Same here. My patio door is on the west and is 8 feet tall with an extra static panel so there's an immense amount of glass there. Before we put up the blinds, the AC couldn't keep up.

Make sure you whatever you choose it's the "comfort height" or whatever they call them these days. Otherwise you'll feel like you're sitting on the kids toilet with your knees kicked out. I've been happy with our Kohler "memoirs" models. Their soft close seats aren't the greatest quality though.

Can I ask which brand of tint? I'm in the process of getting quotes to redo my entire house here in AZ before summer hits. :bananadead:

True and funny story about addiction.

Wife and I go to dinner invite at a friend of wife's. Nice couple. Very polite and quiet folk. Have not been out like this since what Dec 2019. Guy has great work stories though. But I GOTTA PEE. Down the hall shitter is not down the hall enough or back behind another room or behind a second door (NEVER buy a house like that).......I do the whiz with seat up.............and put the seat and lid down WHAM. I mean like an M80 in the can. Yeah I dropped it.

We have soft close and you know 'cause the thing have not been out much.........addicted to soft close is real.

Wife said she didn't hear. Phew.

I had that issue when a builder used one for a bathroom fan vent. Couldn’t figure out why the bathroom was so damn cold, finally figured it out and put a “deflector” of sorts around it and it helped tremendously.

Got to play with my version of a babushka doll. I installed a level 2 EV charging station in my garage, 240V 50 amps. I had been charging with a 120V 15 amp circuit, which TBH in my work at home life, or even going to the office life would have been just fine. But what's the point of having a DIY babushka doll if you don't play with them every now and then? :D

    p0.jpg

First we start with a water tight connection to the breaker panel.
    p1.jpg

Then you install 35' of 1" conduit. I like PVC because it's easier to work with.
    p2.jpg

Put in plenty of pull boxes, because . . .
    p3.jpg

Pulling 6AWG THHN wire is a PITA. The stuff is stiff, and expensive. That's about $190 right there.
    wire.jpg

    p4.jpg

I put in an energy meter because I'm a nerd. With my solar it would be pretty close to impossible to know exactly how much energy the car is using.
    p5.jpg

And it's all done. The cost of materials and new tools was under $450 including the wire and power meter. The lowest quote I got for someone else to install it was $1,500. And that is why I DIY. I'll keep that extra $1K for myself.

Damn. Wish I would have installed a meter when I had my charger put in. I also wish my power company would let us power on the solar array, but that's a whole 'nother story.

I have a Kohler Santa Rosa toilet to fit in a tight space with elongated bowl and it has received several compliments from visitors. The large size and extra height are noticeable on the daily, particularly since only a compact will fit the space. Bonus points as I used to live in Santa Rosa. Best seat in the house.
