You can buy a low-end block/Bilstein lift from the dealership for way more $$ than what those components should ever cost, in order to have Toyota’s warranty cover those parts for 3 whole years (and pay about $150/hr. or so for 8 hours when it really only takes about 4 to install). Or…
You could buy a far better lift for less $$ (or even the same exact lift under the Bilstein brand for a fraction of Toyota’s price), which will also come with its own warranty. And save more cash by having a mom ‘n pop shop install it… or way better yet, install it yourself since it really is pretty easy following Youtube videos, and save all that money while actually learning a thing or 2 about your truck.

Toyota dealerships are obviously convincing people who don’t know jack shit about this stuff, that if they don’t pay 4xs more for what they’re actually getting, then their TSS sensor will malfunction. And if their window leaks or an engine sensor goes bad in the future, etc… they’re happy to let people believe that their warranty will be voided. Not true for either.

OP, I know you just want to protect your investment and this Toyota TRD lift sounds nice and easy. But in reality, buying a mediocre lift from Toyota and having them install it isn’t doing yourself or your truck any favors. The money you’re spending for this supposed peace of mind is far, far more than the cost of an unlikely fallout from these componens within the next 3 years. To answer your question tho… I say after you sign the paperwork and the truck is yours, drive the truck straight home right after you cancel this $2500 ($600 value) lift and rethink this whole thing. Either way though, enjoy the new Tacoma!
