    Hello all! New member here.
Please forgive me if this is a common question, but…can someone please enlighten me as to how to remove this(see photo)? I can only guess that it’s called a dip stick seal or guide. According to the new cover, t’s not threaded. I have tried everything..including heat…to loosen it. I need to install it on my new timing chain cover.
Of the entire convoluted task, I can’t believe this has been my biggest hangup. Lawd!
    Thanks in advance.

Is it an orderable part? If so I’d get a new one.

Yes! It is! Finally went to the dealership today and found out it is order-able. Thank goodness. However apparently there are two possible options for the same year. So, I needed my vin to determine which one I need. Of course, I didn’t have that info on me, so unless I can find it online, I’m going back to dealership tomorrow. Just glad to get an answer. I just assumed it was threaded and would easily come out. Not the case. Thanks!

Make sure to get yourself a good brass hammer and set of brass drifts. You’ll want to set the cover in a vice and take your time tapping the new one in. Good luck and keep us posted.
