    No joke:

A buddy of mine used to have two chunks of train rail bolted to the frame under his F150

I have standard full length 2 drawer system from Truckvault.com and LEER matching color cap on my 2008 4x4 Taco

I used to travel a lot going across the country to shoot in high power matches. The weapons stay in one drawer and the ammo in the other to meet interstate requirements whem traveling witn rifles.

The Truckvault and LEER cap combined, I have plenty of permanent weight that adds enough ballast over the over the axle in the winter and heavy rain conditions

Where I live (north-east corner of WA. state) I/we use tube sand. The bags are pretty sturdy and I haven't had any leaks. And I've been using the same bags for 4 years now.. They come in 50 or 60 lb. bags, depending on the brand. I carry 6 bags in mine (360 lbs + about 200 lbs from my Snug Top shell) and it works very well.

Never understood the kitty litter thing. Why would anyone choose it over sand?

It's way more expensive. It's lighter. And the standard stuff is made up of a lot of bentonite clay. So if it gets wet it will be detrimental as a traction aid.

I haven't found the need to put any weight in the bed. 4x4 has been perfectly fine.

Something I missed or wasn't mentioned. When I plow I make sure I have a full tank of gas.
    ~20 gallons x ~8lbs/gal = 160lbs free

LOL. The weight was "free" for the gas required to power the Tacoma at a cost. Pay for gas and you get 160#'s for free. :spending:
