    Remember when you could pull into the gas station and say "gimme two dollars of regular"... and the attendant would pump almost SEVEN GALLONS of gas into your tank?

    And if you had big bucks and you said "fill 'er up" you would be rewarded at the end with some drinking glasses or stainless dinnerware?

    We had a creek we played in at my parents, I remember when we were young my brother and I dammed the creek up and came back to the house and told mom we were the best dam builders there was. She got mad at us for cussing, we were like no mom we dammed the creek up :rofl:

    Actually I'm 68. When I was in college in early 1970's I worked part-time at a Tenneco gas station. We had all three of the things I mentioned in that post... Attendants to pump your gas, Gas under 30 cents per gallon, and Free Drinking Glasses or Dinnerware.

    I remember the stations having what was called gas wars and Dad would fill 55 gal drums of gas for 18 cents a gallon.
