I have a 2016 OR and installed a 3 inch performance accessories body lift. Got it scanned at autozone and when the guy plugged it into the computer after scanning my truck, it said gas cap. I tightened it but it’s still on? Any help?

Replace with new OEM gas cap, then recheck.

The neck would have had to be stretched and or extended to accommodate for the extreme body lift difference, I would check the filler neck all the way to the tank fine the non original section tube or hose and check all clamps for secureness and leaks, even the tiniest EVAP leak will throw a code during the emissions check pressure and vacuum pump tests.

Who installed the body lift? When I simply replaced my original body mount bushings with new ones, I had to disconnect a fair amount of stuff before I started to jack the body up off the frame... slowly. My truck is 21 years old and doesn't have a ton of sensors or other stuff - I disconnected shifter linkage, fender liners to keep them from ripping, brake line brackets, and probably a few other things I'm forgetting. If someone neglected to unplug anything that would experience strain during your install, maybe you have a sensor or something that got compromised.

Usually takes a couple starts/drives to go away. Assuming it is the gas cap. The code they read was not specifically for the gas cap, it's just the starting point.
