I'm about to order a new bearing, either the Spicer rubber or IEDLS poly but could someone confirm that the yoke pulls down all the way over the bearing allowing for all of the stake nut to contact the threads of the driveshaft? Someone posted a photo of it early on in this thread and this thread also confirms it https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/iedls-and-xc-center-bearings-the-unexpurgated-story.545825/

    Here's the earlier post

Yo, How's this support bearing holding up? I go through an OEM one in 30k it seems like (rubber tears) and am hopefully going to get feed back from someone else who also was going thru oem quickly.

    Thanks

I've been running mine for 3 years now, but very few miles. My truck has been in project mode. I think I have 7K on the bearing. It looks like new.

Just replaced mine after around 5 years and it had minimal play. I was building a new driveshaft so figured I would replace it at the same time. Put roughly 110,000km on it. Was blowing oe ones every year.

Running a double cardan behind the CB now and it's been good so far, though only had it for a week or so. No vibes!

Debating picking this up if I can find one or just getting an OEM one. my CB is toast. What would be the big benefit of this guy?

    Severe duty no frills usage.

Seriously. I wheeled the crap out of this thing and then resumed life of the truck as a daily after years of it, and it hasn't skipped a beat. Yeah it's a little bit of work to get it mounted up Rob, but it's so damn worth it, it's not even funny. I love it so much that I have a spare waiting for when and if this one fails me. But for the last 7 years it's not only handled stupid offroading shenanigans, but 370+ HP going through it.

Good to hear. been combing through the thread to see what is needed to install it. You know me. I am always game if it helps with performance or longevity. With more weight and power the truck is running through parts quicker than usual.

All you need is a piece of 1/8" or thicker metal bar that extends the length of the bracket and drill two holes for the bolts. Depending on the size of your lift you will have to play with the height of the bearing. My leaf pack measures 2.25" thick if I remember right so all I did was run mine upside down. No extra long bolts or shimming needed. For me, all I needed to do was modify the piece of metal bar.

The driveshaft is the last piece of the truck that I even think about worrying about these days, even with all the power.

Gotcha I am trying to make sense of how you would need to do it for a DCSB based on the images from page 1. The DCSB seems funky. I have a CB spacer now so likely will start there as my old leaf pack was 2.75 and the new one is around 2.75 - 3".

If its just a flat bar that's super easy. but seems there's a part i'm missing.

DCSB is something else. I have a LB so it was easy for me. SB is a totally different animal. Including but not limited to working on the fuel pump, as I know you know. Lol.

haha shit. I still need to take care of that. Yeah looking at the mods for the DCSB may be something ill pick up later. I need a new carrier before I take my truck in a couple of weeks. Likely go OEM or that spicer 5002334 you guys noted which seems to be better than OEM from what I was reading in the thread.

Maybe the long beds are just blessed with ease of mods as a whole. ;) Lol.
