    Same as everybody else...
I live in Southern Maryland. The weather guessers always get our forecast jacked. Another reason to always prepareFB_IMG_1641158616288.jpg

Bottom line: if there is a forecasted snowstorm, stay home! If you have to work, get out early and go home. I don't blame VDOT for not keeping I-95 clear, but I do blame them for not having sufficient wreckers to clear the accidents. There is no freaking way anyone should be stuck on an interstate more than a couple hours max.

Just saw this for some reason....lol. I live off exit 140 in Stafford. So, I wish I could've helped some folks out, but as someone else said...we were out of power for 4-5 days. I gotta laugh at everyone who blames the governor because what's that guy gonna do (and I'm not a fan of that guy)? What you all may not know is that there were huge semi truck accidents that blocked up 95 during the rain to ice mix, then the snow came at a heavy rate, add the through traffic from the entire east coast and it's a disaster. You're not going to plow with traffic in the way, you can't pre treat the roads when it's raining, you can't clear accidents you can't get too and you're not sending the troops out there when they can't even mobilize. ps. my property alone had 10-15 trees come down and every roadway had big trees come down on power lines. I'm just saying that blaming bad driving and gov't is ridiculous in this situation....this could've happened anywhere given the same factors.

Bilstein 6112 front / 5100 rear (extended) shocks, Headstrong AAL, Firestone airbags, 4.88 gears, OME Carrier bearing drop kit, Aluminum 1/4" skids (engine to transfer). Custom sliders (1.75" HREW tube w/ 3/16" base plates). Custom front bumper and high clearance rear bumper (1/4" steel plate, 1.75" tube.) Apex 5500 winch w/synthetic line (36lbs) and required accessories for an underpowered winch (snatch blocks and extra line.) Tekonsha P3 brake controller, remote start, any-time-backup camera w/ front facing camera, Leer 100R shell (w/e-track single slot tie-down mounts for removable Yakima EasyTop.) Cat shields by CaliRaised. Husky liners, window tint, heated seat (passenger only.) Relentless bed rail brackets with QuickFists (shovel/axe/fire extinguisher.) Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount. Anytime rear with front facing camera. Billet front seat risers. Viair 88p. 265/75r16 Goodyear Ultra-terrain tires.

    You've got some good points.

One thing that I can't seem to figure out is why that stretch of road is always such a shait-show even outside of a storm, rush hour, "sun in driver's eyes" or any other excuse. It's not like I-81 drops a lane before Fredericksburg VA heading north yet you can depend on tail-lights for miles and crawlin' along until the mixing' bowl. Quantico and some highly armored buildings are around that area.. perhaps it's a government test area for a new weapon that cripples neuron firing. <shrug>

Agree with your view of this particular section (and also up by Occoquon). I'm hoping the new Hot lanes that extend beyond Rt 17 (central park) will clear it up a little. People just don't understand the zipper concept of merging and the stay right and pass on left code. Even VA drivers will sit in the left lane while people have to whip around them. Just controlling A holes imho. They're also building a bridge by Quantico business park for some reason (maybe a dedicated crossover for traffic instead of clogging up the rear gate with people trying to get on rt 1).
