As promised I have the pricing together for the full float axle package.

Like I said I will only be doing 10 of these to start. I will be providing...

4130 cromoly .250 wall Housing (4” wider than stock only!) 35 spline axles, hubs, all bearings, seals, drive plates, center caps, rotors, wilwood superlite calipers and 12.1 wilwood rotors

The axle will come with our custom truss, spring perches, brakes mounted, brake line tabs for -3AN lines on the housing and -3AN lines to Toyota conversion for the flex lines.

The customer will be responsible for the 3rd member of their choice as I don’t want to get involved with all that. Essentially the housing will be ready to install in your truck, just add lower shock mounts and a 3rd member.

There are all the same parts that I’m running in my personal truck and the same stuff Dave and Jesse have been personally using for over 15yrs. You can get 3rd members for $400 and up. Personally I just ordered a billet aluminum 3rd with a Detroit locker and 10” gears which cost waaaaay too much but that is all up to you.

The cost for the complete setup less the 3rd will be right at $4500.

@Airdog has all the info on the speed sensor delete and will be your go to for questions on that.

They will also all be mig welded

Ill answer all questions the best I can. But here are a few things that need to be understood when losing the rear wheel speed sensors.
First, if a full float 9 inch is your goal you will have to accept that a lot of the Nannie’s built into our trucks will cease to work. ABS, VSC, and Traction control will no longer exist as they need individual wheel speeds to work properly.
You will lose an your ABS system.
All lights associated with that will be lit up on your dash.
Systems that rely on abs being fully operational will cease to function.
The only issue that really needs to be resolved is losing the speedometer and we have found a workaround for that. The only reason I say that is here in CA , in order to pass smog you can’t have engine codes. No speedo sets a p0500 code which will cause you to fail.
I am working with @RonRon23 to simplify the process to keep your Speedo working with out having to run wires from the back of the truck to the front. Though I know for a fact that doing that does work currently. I am 2wd so the rear speed sensors are needed for this process. 4wd can get speed signals from the xfer case and there is a how to on TW for that. @RonRon23 has a link for it. 4wd can also use the same method as the 2wd if you want
We will keep you updated with our findings as we progress. Please PM your questions and I’ll add them to this thread as we work through this.
3rd gens are on their own here. Neither one of us has any knowledge on how your systems work as compared to the 2nd gen.
There are other methods out there but we are sticking to what we know and will try to help as needed.
So just remember…we will pass on the information that we know works for us. But making it work for you and your situation is 100% on you. Between 2005 and 2015 there were many wiring changes made and systems added that didn’t exist on previous years. You will need to do your own research and verify our findings with your own vehicle.

    …………..DISCLAIMER…………
The following is at your own risk. JD fab,@Airdog or myself are not responsible if you ruin something on your truck from the following post:

As @Airdog mentioned 4x4 have it a bit easier. I’m hoping to try this route myself when it comes down to it.
I have had this post saved for a while and I believe this is what Wyatt at RST used to do before he committed business suicide.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/upgrade-to-full-float-rearend-limp-mode.588516/#post-25289239
It uses a worm gear sensor off the T case where you will have to create your own harness to the speedometer.

@Airdog confirmed the method of which sensor to use for 2WD models. Hopefully we can confirm an easier solution this weekend.

With the 4x4 solution, it may be safe to completely delete the abs module will receive the signal from the T case and not from the abs module.

On the 2wd models, It appears the speed sensor passes through the skid ecu(abs unit) and the signal is converted to a different 4 pulse wave back to the speedometer.

If that’s the case, the abs module(skid ecu) might have to remain plugged in and the hydraulic side of things will have to be disconnected and ran accordingly as a simple brake system.

Either way abs will no longer function on either model, but the amount of abs system removal may vary depending on some of our findings.

I’m curious to try one of the GPS speedometer square wave modules hooked up directly to the speedometer to see if the trucks like it.

Edit: I’m reading a lot into Dakota Digital modules. Seems to be used pretty widely. Maybe this can take any wheel speed sensor and convert it to the signal to the speedometer. It could be a solution for both 4x4 and 4x2.

Haha I’ve been staring at TPMS, stability control, abs, brake lights for years. I keep the abs fuse unplugged. Tpms sensors need to be relearned but they’re in the garage in a bag. When all said and done, I’ll be pulling the lights from the speedometer.
