Changing the pump part is easy, but I can't comment on getting access to the pump on your truck. Probably gonna to have to drop the tank, I'm sure there's a post some where on here detailing that. The pump assembly looks very similar to most Toyotas, and URD lists compatibility for their aftermarket pumps across the board. I'd go for some bigger than the 255, like the AEM 320/340, or the Aeromotive 340. I recall I paid about $120 for my AEM.

    https://urdusa.com/aeromotive-stealth-340-lph-in-tank-fuel-pump/

I also used a PA12 hose to connect the new pump rather than the rubber stuff.

I swapped out my roached lower pulley yesterday.

Check out the anno flaking off and the wear line on the front edge. I know my pullies are centered because I bought the tool to measure it but the belt still tends to ride on front edge of this one. I measured 1.5mm difference in the offset from flipping this on it's post. They used Koyo bearings surprisingly but with metal shields that aren't any good at keeping moisture out.

so with it being a 3rd gen i’m confused if i can even upgrade the pump because it used a new brushless motor compared to the 2nd gens. I did the installation of my procharger myself and I honestly wish i had a shop do it because this just sucks rn i can’t even drive it:( If anyone can also comment on the JMS boost a pump, does the green led turn on when its functioning?

Ah snap, we sure that booster works with a brushless pump? I'd give JMS a ring.

It came with the Procharger kit along with the flash tune from OV tune. I’m almost certain I was at fault since the wiring job i had done was initially with the plastic connectors that shrink and harden when heat is applied. I’m soldering them this time it just sucks because the fuel pump control module plug in wires are so close to being gone now from me going back and re doing them but should be all good now. Just weird cause i did it exactly as it said and wasn’t working.

I’ve had the pro charger kit sitting for months hoping that I’d be able to snag one of the controllers and pumps made for the TT ov kits but last update I got is they’re a year out at the earliest before more come in. I’m just not confident enough to trust that booster on a stock pump that has been known to shit the bed at factory voltage.

If I understand the fuel system diagram correctly the ecm on the third gens modulates the fuel pressure by cycling the pump on and off depending on demand and injection mode. What becomes tricky is you can’t just run constant pressure because it is a return-less system. The thought crossed my mind originally to just drop an aeromotive in on a separate relay triggered circuit like you posted.

Sounds like it could create some tuning issues. So return line and some wiring, but will it piss off the nanny?

Looking at the fuel trim tables, there is a plethora of target fuel pressures for everything, way above my pay grade to even try and screw with. Last thing I want to do is have this thing go lean under boost and blow a piston apart, especially since these blocks can’t be bored and sleeved.

Not a big deal for a tuner. Would be a blessing to have constant fuel pressure.

I agree, hopefully I can possibly find someone locally. Not a lot of guy around here that are familiar with Toyota stuff, especially D4S, mostly guys that do more traditional jdm cars, diesels and some domestic trucks. I’m not in any particular rush but I have been looking for other vehicle platforms that have a more developed portfolio like the eco boosts.

3rd Gen fuel pump upgrade is not available. It doesn’t have a return fuel system. If I remember correctly, the stock fuel controller is not compatible with with an upgraded fuel pump which is what led OVTune to developing a new controller for an upgraded fuel pump. Unfortunately that is also unavailable.

That’s the exact problem. This brushless motor works very differently and so far no one makes a larger pump. Even worse is the fact that the injectors can’t even be upgraded at this point in time because of the kind it uses. Looks like us 3rd gen folks are gonna have to wait for at least 5 years imo. I love my current setup with the procharger but i’m planning to have forged internals and a slightly larger cam so i’d love to get some more fuel in her. Is what it is tho didn’t buy the truck to drag race lol

Sounds like a "out with the D.I. and only use the traditional injectors..." Which even then would require most likely a full standalone. Whole additional can of worms there...

Happy with the power level I'm at for now. No problems whatsoever so been focusing on the rest of the truck, and my other 100 expensive hobbies.. I'd love to push it harder one day but as discussed before that will involve many hurdles. (built motor, trans, etc) Still not sure if I'd stick with the 1gr at that point, frankly I'm less intimidated by the thought of an LS swap.. I'm just gonna keep rippin it as is till I decide otherwise.

    How's your truck been runnin?

fantastic, I'm a little stuck right now as I'd like to finish my exhaust set up but the Y pipe i wanted is no longer in production so ima little lost. I'm also trying to redo pretty much the whole interior but that doesn't seem to be done to often on these trucks so I'm kinda just planning in my head for the time being

Do like @rheath08 did. Molnar rods, CP or JE pistons, ARP2000 head studs and head gasket, then boost away!
