How much oil do you lose when checking your oil over time?

if it was made to do that it would be ok....its wasnt a two stroke. It was about to blow up...

 

My Uncles CRV uses a quart every fill up and its gas tank only holds about 15 gallons. So a quart every 350 miles. So no need for oil changes, ever!

 

I also bought a lab set to measure the amount of oil that's pulled on the dipstick then replace that exact amount after each check. It's really the only way to make sure I'm not introducing the problem. Anyone who does differently is by default wrong.

I guess I could stop checking oil altogether but I'm way more interested in what's inside the Schrodinger's box.

 

And i thought friday's could be weird.

It's a Toyota...you are supposed to check the oil?!? The internet says it will run forever why would I open the hood?

oil experiences evaporative lose in the cylinder head, also some is lost in the pcv system and very small amount will get passed the rings. all this is perfectly normal.

 

You are thinking of Porsche where they don't let you check the oil.
