How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Good for you. I'm jealous, my Longo deposit was 12/1 and they are telling mid to end of March. Nothing more specific.

It was a 1000 mile drive to get it but my gf and I made a long weekend out of it so all good. Will get some pics up soon. Leer 100XR, bedrug , westcott O degree sliders, 2020 pro wheels (I like the style) , TRD skid powder coated black and raw RCI trans skid,and real sheepskin covers with matching stitching (don’t laugh high quality and comfortable). Meso dome lamp installed and ultimate tails pre ordered. I painted the fender flares and removed all emblems and the black vinyl on the door panels.

the dealer was in Denver so I stopped by off grid engineering and had them install a dual battery setup and power ports in the back.

i cosmolined the blazes out of it in the hotel parking lot on day one. That was dicey ! I bought some throwaway clothes and pillows to lay on the ground . I got a good bit of it, but it took another 3 days to get it right once I was at home.

absolutely love it in all respects and especially the MT

doing a full audio install soon- just waiting for the head unit and sub to come in. When apart I will change out the rubber inserts on the dash and door panels for leather, and I sent out some of the trim(dash and door bezels) to be set up with real carbon fiber.

What website do you guys use to check your vin for temp status? i've been using https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification, but it just started sending me a different website address that has no where to put in the vin#

 

I noticed the same thing. I can't get the spec sheet for a highlander I own now either. Definitely some website changes.

 

Thanks GFK. I never thought of that, walked into the credit union today 1 mile from my house and they gave me 2.24% for up to 66 months. They HAD to one up you by .01% lol! I thought that was such a weird number. They apparently partner with my dealership and said they don't mark up the rate. I think it sucks you can't get a better rate for a 36 month loan but I bet that's because they aren't making a ton of interest. Toyota is supposedly offering $500 cash back on all Tacoma trims through this month. I hope I get mine before then, should get it in the next week or two - says in transit.

I put temporary VIN in on the Toyota site and it says that it is not a valid VIN. Supposedly truck was built last week, so maybe that explains why I got this message. I’m texting tomorrow to get actual VIN.
I seem to remember a comment that if the last 6 digits of the VIN contained a letter, it was indeed a temporary VIN. Last 6 digits of my temporary VIN are 03B863….can anyone explain what I should be deciphering from that information. I’ve looked all over and gotten lots of conflicting info.
Dealer says truck was built last week, 2-3 weeks in transit, hopefully get it by end of March (stoked about that.) I’ve waited since early 2021 trying to get a 2021 LR Pro, so what’s another couple of weeks.

I had originally wanted a 2021 LR, but could never get one at a price that I liked, and wanted to go with a dealer friend of mine here in state. When the 2022’s came out I figured “get the Pro color”. After a while and with all the delays, I really just wanted to get a truck and was about to tell the dealer that I would take either white or ELM (I have an MGM and don’t want black). He texted me the weekend that I was going to call him and said he had an ELM allocated and that it was mine if I wanted it, so I jumped on it. I like it cause it’s kind of polarizing….either you like it or hate it, but I think it will be worth more if I ever decide to sell it.
Thinking of investing in new cars that I can get at MSRP & selling them and get out of the stock market.
Kind of a long winded answer to your question.

 

sign up for the page it’s sending you, add your temp vin as a vehicle. You’ll see a little link under the picture of the truck that says “vehicle specs” or something. It’ll bring you to the old vin lookup.

 

Sweet glad i could help rather than just sitting here crying about my 11/24 that hasn't allocated! My dealer told me i can finance through them for the same rate as the credit union, and still use the credit union, they get 1% for signing me up. So I told them I would do that for them.... going to try and get some freebies thrown in for doing it.

I just got the call that my truck finally arrived. I'm going to pick it up this afternoon.

Placed deposit on Sept 18th. TRD sport DCSB Premium, LED, Tech in Lunar Rock.

 

Ordered the first week of November 2021. Built on January 3, 2022. Arrived at the dealer this morning. There was one mixup, it did not come with the heated black leather seats/JBL audio/moonroof as ordered. I didn't care about those but the wife wanted heated seats which had to come as part of a package. The dealer will cover the cost of a restyler they use to put in Katzkin leather and seat warmers, so that will take a week to order and get installed. After I get it home, it will get the mudflaps, toolbox, and oval tube steps salvaged from my 2018 Tacoma that was totaled.

 

Congrats on the longbed. I feel like I've talked to every dealer within a 500 mile radius hoping to get allocated the next one that hits my region.

 

Congrats!!! Wow, that sounds like an awesome dealer! I had a similar mixup with my order from the dealer, although I had requested a truck without the premium package as I didn’t want the leather or moonroof. Order request placed in August, and found out end of October the truck was coming in November but with the premium package. Told the dealer that wasn’t what I wanted, but they wouldn’t budge on price.

So I’m still waiting. Though since then I’ve put deposits in with many other dealers so hopefully soon!

 

Naively went to my local Toyota dealer Durango Motor Company 12/6/21 thinking I could place and order for a TRD PRO was told all have been allocated and get in line as it might be 9 months or more same for the 4Runner TRD PRO. Very well then, what about the TRD Off Road? Similar story less waiting though but all have been pre-sold. Wasn't interested the TRD Sport so he told me about this new model the SR5 Trail that has not been spoken for "yet" when they put the order in 10/21 for the dealership.

Googled a youtube video while in the dealer showroom 5 minutes later I put down a $500 deposit on a site unseen truck that had not even been made and basically paid MSRP. Was told I should see the truck at the end of the month of December... NOT!

Got a phone call last week 1/31/22 that the truck should be here by the end of the week 2/4/22 the build date of the truck was 12/31/21 @ 5 pm in Baja Mexico. Picked up the truck last Friday 2/4/22. This whole "supply chain" farce is ridiculous my first new vehicle in 25 years and I just had to end up taking whatever they had not pre-sold already.

Toyota's putting out a lot of TRD sport and OR with the premium package these days, because they know they'll sell. The ratio on the kissmygrits inventory tool of TRD Off Roads with Leather vs fabric is 181/337. That's a really high percentage of TRD OR premium package to non-premium in my mind.

Do you have any details on that $500 cash back Toyota is supposedly offering? Is this outside of the Military or College Grad $500 cash back offer?
