I just recently went from 265/70/17 to 285/70/17 with a 3” lift. I knew I would take a hit on MPG’s but I went from 18 to 13. Is that normal??

Funk the sour ones though, you eventually have a raw tongue and can't taste anything.

No. Should be more like 10. Perhaps you are driving very gingerly?

I'll give a quick, serious, answer. Then we can get back to treating this thread not seriously.

Yes. It's normal. Calculate the difference in mileage. It's probably better than 13. Otherwise, keep your expectations low. It'll be 13-15. Maybe 16 in the summer.

    Ok. Now....where were we......

2 things: first, your new tires are 10% larger in diameter so your MPG is going to be off my a similar amount unless you're correcting for that already (I assume you aren't since you didn't mention it in your post). second, you likely added ~20lbs per corner of unsprung rolling mass with the new tires. I don't recall the calculation, but it's going to be the equivalent of several hundred lbs of sprung weight. In short, yes it's normal and no matter what the tuner tells you it ain't coming back.

Just towed my sled 160 miles round trip in my 5x10 utility trailer. Trucks all stock except for the goodyear 265/70 16 A/T tires. Got 19.4 mpg. using S5 only. I did the same trip last year, and got 19.1 mpg. E10 87 grade fuel.
