I got some cheap ass traction boards that have done really well.

 

The idea of the dash cam is to defend yourself from false accusations. Unless you've done something incriminating or captured an at fault accident that you're trying to cover up, you don't have anything to worry about. I think "most" of us are okay with owning our mistakes and being willing to cooperate and accept fault if we know we were wrong/caused the accident. If you're so worried of incriminating yourself and can't stand the thought of your footage being used against you, you can always use our wonderful justice system and lawyer up/know your rights about illegal searches and seizures. Moral of the story, don't be a dill-hole; dash cams are good.

the main reason why i have them in all my vehicles is because Insurance Company's do not fight for you anymore. its not worth it to them. last time i was hit the lady on the side of the road admitted fault. we filed a claim and they did not respond for a week. when they did they said it was my fault. ins company accepted 51% at fault and it was BS. if i had a camera that could not have happened.

People are shitty and are scammers. so its needed.

 

I also have a similar one. It has the folding legs but will also snap directly to a 5-gallon bucket which usually works better when the ground is frozen.
