Wow, brand new and dealer would not fix. I would suggest to go to another dealer to see if they will fix it.
What happened to pride off workmanship and customer satisfaction?

Mine was too, lol. Rear bumper was WAY off. But that's bullshit. And yea, not a popular opinion on this forum to shit on the quality of this stuff, but if that's the excuse and it's true, then it's pretty messed up. I'd like to see some others with leather trim weighing in. It does seem like an easy fix though. A little adhesive goes a long way. I'm not going to rant about some of the quality issues I've noticed, but it's a thing now days :crapstorm:

I have leather trim and haven't seen any issues with the trim. I'm pretty OCD too, I can spot a problem with ease:

The leather trim they had looks totally different. Yours looks good, but it's also a different model. I'm wondering if people with the same model as OP have the same issue. Still, if they can make ours flush, they should make the SR5 ones flush too.

Also, inb4 the "You signed the paperwork" crowd shows up :boom:

I am 99% sure the OP doesn't have leather. That looks like vinyl. The dashboard on my truck is a kind of...neoprene material? It's not leather.

Technically, the seats aren't leather either. It's some kind of synthetic.

Ya, I can hear them now. Truth is, I still would have bought the truck if I had seen it from the beginning. I doubt they would have done anything at the time of sale. I was lucky to discover the truck as it was being offloaded, and with zero markup, beggars can't be choosers.

Right, it is vinyl. Hence, the quotations.

Truthfully, I see the same issue with yours. If you take close up picture, it magnifies the gap.

Can you tell me where you got those vent rings?

Why Amazon of course! You can get everything on that site:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08V8PNKBH?ie=UTF8&th=1

You want the outer ring, not the inner. The inner will not get rid of the chrome. The great thing about them, is they are peel and stick. You don't have to dismantle the dash board to install them (like other vent rings out there).

They don't have gloss black or matte black, but you can scuff them up, spray them with a primer coat. Then spray them with a 1 or 2 coats of black.

The TRD trims have chicken pox rubber. It’s a genuine bitch to clean.

That is just crappy fitment and Toyota really should take notice and do the right thing. Having said that, Tacomas are far from 'quality' assembly though with a history of misaligned body panels, etc.

Yeah, I’ve seen about a dozen different brands of these on Amazon, but could never tell through their advertising pictures which brand’s blue rings were closest to the voodoo blue on my Tacoma. With now seeing the rings you bought and the bit of voodoo blue of your truck in your one picture, they seem pretty damn close to the voodoo blue. I’m sold. Thanks for your help!
