Hey all. I did a quick search and didn't find anyone asking the same question I have, so I figured id start a new thread to ask about it(i might be wrong, and it might already be answered somewhere else, but eh)

I'm looking to get some spacers for my 3rd gen taco, and I'm trying to find any info on them. the end goal is to be able to fit 285/70/17 on the truck(i have an icon stage 2 on the way, but I wanted to shove them out a little bit more for a little bit more aggressive stance. my rims are a set of method 701s, 17x8.5' with 0 offset. right now, I have a set of KO2 on there, 265/65/17.

Does anyone have any recommendations for spacers/alternative routes?

Alot of folks will say to run spidertrax. I've ran spidertrax and knock off's off Amazon both works the same with only the color being different. Just make sure they're hub-centric. Most will say use loctitie but I also don't use loctite and never had an issue. They're torqued to toyota specs. Every oil change I check them and retorque them.

Don’t forget you’re changing the scrub radius of the tire, be prepared to trim some items if you haven’t already.

ive been slowly piecing everything together, and the next one is going to be the spacers and the lift. ive already done some minor trimming, just to get it ready down the road. ive heard of some people doing cab mount relocations, but im not sure if ill need to(or even want to) have to do that for it, since ive read a decent amount of people have been able to do it with minimal trimming, and not much else needed.

perfect!! thank you so much for the info! ill definitely keep that in mind with the spidertrax vs. knockoffs doing just about the exact same thing.

Another advice, if you do run the Amazon knock offs (depending which one you order) ditch the lug nuts that comes with them and buy extended ones. It'll have more real estate when it grabs onto the studs vs the ones included w/ the spacers. The extended lug nuts I bought does not work with the spidertrax (least not the ones I have).

thank you so much for the info. i tried to find stuff on here on spacers, but all anyone has been saying is "spacers god, or spacers trash" with zero elaboration on anything, so i definitely seriously appreciate the info and tips!

I can't comment on everyone's experience but my own so I'm just giving you what I've gone through and what worked for me.

Bora or Spidertrax are the brands I’d use, proven quality. When it comes to wheels staying on the truck don’t be cheap.
