This^ might “feel” right, but most decent studies show that BEV and EV vehicles quickly overcome their additional manufacturing footprint. It can be six months. It can be a year. But it’s faster than you might guess. @FishTacoBoyz has it right.

Is the OP concerned with his carbon footprint or just interested in better fuel economy?

I, like others, say RAV4 Prime. Get one if you can find one before Toyota runs out of federal and state and regional rebates/credits/supplements.

Sometimes..it is better to have two vehicles? One for daily driver..and one for those hunting expeditions..
If you golf buddy’s leg room is too tight…have them drive there cars…and take you with them…?

Dead animals in a SUV? …the “smells”. …UM? Reason truck beds are useful…including hauling rubbish..

Like a airplane ..you can get a smaller plane..but the seats space is almost the same..?

Second this. We got a 22 Pilot for the wife a few months ago after researching and driving lots of mid sized SUV’s. Quality of ride, handling, comfort, acceleration, materials and cost we’re hard to beat. If no need for the third row (although it folds down providing ample storage space), the Passport may be worth a look also.

IMHO, the Passport both looks cooler and is probably a hair easier to drive/park being a bit shorter, but for us the extra room in the back of the Pilot (to camp/sleep/haul/etc) and the fact that it actually get about 1 mpg better being longer are upsides worthy of consideration. Passports are good looking and a little more off road friendly, albeit barely ha.

I’m waiting on my Tacoma to come in, have a crosstrek sport I’ll sell ya for 29k with 6k on the odo… hah… anyhow, i average around 32mpg with the 2.5L engine… in all reality, the crosstrek is a good car and worth a look if your just looking for checking off the most boxes on your above list but hard to find right now and not getting easier with factory situations in Japan currently. Room in back seat is similar to Tacoma though

Environmental practice….”Yes” ..We all need to do our part….but transportation..is hard to remove…

Going electric vehicles…maybe only a small part reducing carbons.. NO real studies of battery disposals, or what this will do the one environment? Hazmat for sure…? When these batteries catch fire..very difficult to extinguish…. Electric tools vs battery power tools…. Getting the correct disposal tool batteries.. Very expensive? And hard to find a place to dispose them..

A hardware store that I use to work at use to collect the batteries… it requires a Hazmat company to pick them up..ship from Hawaii require Hazmat shipping containers, suits..etc.. Very costly…they ended this practice…
Who knows’ what people do with their old/ non-working batteries…( most likely landfills)

EV vehicles…? Will it create a new environmental damages …? Less carbon from cars..but not from the electric power plants…

    golf courses …huge chemical damages..fertilizers, pesticides..lol
    Aloha
