Styrofoam as insulation?

    Hey, have you guys noticed the styrofoam in the panels?

    Its so strange, they're not mounted to anything, you can reach and shake them around.

    It’s to block leafs and other crap from falling in there. Not actually used for insulation.

    Much better than injected foam. It won't trap water. Look at all the chevy/gmc, and dodge trucks that rust out with injected foam.

    I had some dirt and leaves and whatnot get stuck in the same place on my '90 Pathfinder one time, and a plant sprouted. It grew to be a couple inches tall before it finally died, pretty cool. When I saw this on my Tacoma shortly after getting it I thought "aww no car plants, dang..."

    It keeps stuff from building up in there, it also is also there for crash absorption.
