3rd gen tacoma tailgate leak

Hey, been seing alot of recalls for the taillight. Surprised dealers aren't covering it they called me to bring in my tacoma and they ended up paying for everything and redoing all my Interior. Gave me a rental. All covered by dealer. Surprised that not all dealers are doing this. Considering mildew is a health maybe they just started paying for it all recently after backlash.

 

I just got the service campaign papers for it this week for my truck

 

They'll only redo/clean the interior if there's evidence of water getting inside. Not every year qualifies for the 3rd brake light service campaign. I had mine replaced but there was no evidence of water leakage so there was nothing else done for me.

 

They replaced my third brake light as a recall, but they did it when I brought it in for the fuel pump recall. They did not advertise the third brake light recall. If you need it, you ay want to ask for it.
