The installer installed a 7 inch deep sun shade on the front wind shield. I guess it is good to block off the sun glare, but I am not used to it when I am driving. It kind of blocking my view in front of me. The legal is 5 inches. The installer said 5” is no good.

What is the normal depth of the sun shade installed on the Gen 3 Taco? Mine only leaves about half an inch left from the Go Pro mount.

I measured it today. It is 7”. As I said, it is good to block the sun glare in the summer except my driving view is kind of interfered between the tint and the clear glass. I guess I will get used to it in times.

Either you're 7ft tall or you're constantly looking for low flying aircraft.:rofl:

Seriously though you'll soon get used to it and you'll definitely appreciate that it's there!

Love my tint strip, next time though I'm going 5%

Not quite. I have a Costco furry sheep skin that sits perfectly on the seat and the back. It elevated my driving vision. I’ll get used to it.

I believe the AS-1 line on most windshields is 5 inches down from the top. Thats the max part of the windshield that can be tinted “legally” .

My 2nd gen Tacoma had a blue factory tint strip in that whole area, which my 3rd gen doesn’t have. If you think 5” would be less annoying then Id get yours redone.
