I need to secure a 2022 TRD w/ 5' bed inside a shipping container for barge transport. What's the best way to chain down the truck to make sure it doesn't move around?

Tried that, only found videos of securing the container itself to a trailer.

I plan to wheel chock it w/ screwed down chocks and then criss cross my straps/chains. Wondering if it would be best to secure it from the tow hooks and receiver or from over the tire straps?

ETA just realized it doesnt have front tow hooks

Have a new Tacoma coming in and I need to ship it to an island. Container will be loaded on a rail car, transported a few hundred miles and then offloaded into a storage yard before finally getting put on a barge where it'll be sailing in the ocean for 9-10 days. Then the container likely offloaded with a big wheel loader and driven a few miles to my house (via wheel loader) with everything still inside.

Yes but what would be the best chain points on the truck?

    The wheels.
In most cases containers used for the transport of vehicles have provisions in the floor to strap the wheels.
Whoever you’re using to ship the vehicle with should handle this.

ty, pretty gnarly, i'd have thought there would be someone you could pay to get it all the way to your doorstep (and handle all the shipping/tie down stuff), but i've never had to do anything like that

also grats on the new truck :D

Chains used on a diagonal on the hitch. If you go the chain route , get the chain ratchet binders. Use ratchet straps on the frame rails. 1 behind each front wheel, and 1 in front of each rear wheel. Then use ratchet strap through each wheel , to keep it from walking side to side in container. You could bet 4 semi tire tubes and inflate them for cushions. Make sure the valve stem is pointed away. Or best bet is to pay me to drive it there. Or accompany it there. Of course you need to fly me home.
