So I am planning on invest into Sumo Springs for my 3rd gen and idk which density to go with. I’m leaning towards the black springs but I’m afraid it would be too stiff because I won’t have enough load. But at the same time I don’t want to go in the opposite direction and go with the blue springs and not have enough when I’m towing my boat and have my future bed rack on. I also do construction work so I typically have a decent amount of tools in the back. Anyone want to give me their experience with either?

I have the blue ones front and back. I'm lifted about 2 inches in the front and 1 inch in the back. They do not touch any of the bump stops but it makes driving my Tacoma much more fun, rides awesome when matched up with my 5100s. Super impressed as the bumbs that soaked up with these stops.

I’d recommend the blue unless you tow heavy often. I have blue and am riding on them constantly due to bed cap, tools etc. the blue are good for 500lbs at 50% compression. When new, when the bed is empty / not towing you can definitely feel the rebound when you hit a bump. Not sure if I got used to it or they broke in a little, but at first it was a bit unnerving, but don’t notice it anymore. My Deaver leaf springs go on next weekend so then they will become extended bump stops.

they are overpriced for what they are. Watch Amazon warehouse deals. I snapped mine up for around half price.

I had blue on my 13' and the ride was terrible. But again the leaf pack was a frown and it sat on the sumo's.

I had the Blue (less load) and went to the Black and added the HeadStrong Progressive 3 leaf AAL's. Stock suspension and Blue Sumo's did not cut it for 300 LB tongue weight Camper with load in the bed. Now Perfect. Paired with Bilstein 5160's.

I have blue Sumos with stock leaf springs. Got them to help with rear end sag when towing my travel trailer.

They did help with the sag and didn't really feel different during DD duties. I'm pleased with how they feel and am happy with them.

I went with the black version because I've been hauling a lot of dirt and gravel. I have a Sport with OR rear shocks.
You shouldn't feel the bump stops during daily driving. They won't make contact with an empty bed. They don't feel bad at all with a load in the bed.

I am planning on putting the blues on my stock truck, just for daily driving reason.

I would go blue unless you are real heavy most of the time. I have a Topper, 2" lift, and carry tools most of the time too.

I use the blue. No lift, no towing anything. I have about 100 pounds of tools in a box straddling the bed. I often haul a bunch of stuff. I found them to be sufficient. My springs were not new, 94,000 miles. When I put them on, they did contact the truck all the time, little compression but definitely touching.
A side benefit is that body sway on curves was drastically reduced. I like them.
