Quick question for those who are more familiar with this than I.

New to me 2019 SR have had for about 12k miles now 32k on clock. Truck has front end vibration that has been getting progressively worse. Last time it was in the dealership said that the diff needle bearing play was ok and when it does go out it's a wear item and thus not warrantied....

Not really trusting if then dealer/ thinking that it's most likely the front diff bearing and something I wanted to upgrade anyway I went ahead and ordered the ECGS bushing and a new seal.

Crawled under it today found a lot more play than I expected question is should I go ahead and do the bushing or is this so worn out that I need to get the dealer to do warranty work before I change it to the solid bushing?

Forgot to add that truck is my daily and more importantly was planning on using it for a ski trip approx 4-5hrs each way this weekend!

Thanks in advance for any insight!

I don’t have a 3rd gen. mines a 2007 with 345,000 kms. No lift . That play seems relatively normal to me I remember thinking the same thing when my truck was fairly new . And according to the video east coast gear supply has on their site there is about .050” play with the stock needle bearing . IIRC. From new my truck had steering wheel vibration. Had dealer rebalance tires which helped and wheel weights kept falling off , once I replaced the crappy tires they put on at factory , was a lot better . There’s a few things that could cause vibration.
I recently noticed a huge increase in vibration in front end Very noticeable , so got under and the drive side axle was ten times that much at least , I parked it till I could gather parts to replace both axles , seals and install the ecgs bushing. actually I just finished the drivers side today . Swapping the needle bearing with the bushing reduces the play drastically, ECGS claims to about .008”. It’s definitely way more solid now.
My needle bearing was fine as in I wouldn’t have thought about going through the process of changing it if I hadn’t already decided to do the bushing while I had it apart .
the vibe I had was from the differential side CV JOINT letting go , Boot was tore , axle came out in 2 pieces. hope this helps a bit , I haven’t drove the truck yet , got other side to do , so can’t say if it feel different

Thanks that helps alot! I am still learning what's normal vs when to worry with this one.

Unfortunately the closer less busy local dealership is usually where I end up and I have already have had several issues with the service department there leading me to question pretty much everything they say.

I was the same way when I got my truck and it took me awhile to to get used to some of the quirks , but I have had to do very little with it , like almost nothing but regular service . And the odd recall .

that’s probably why they are less busy
